Hi puppychick! My cats are VERY fussy. I am trying the cheaper brands but they sniff it, look at me, sniff again and walk off disgustedly. If they DO eat they sick it up afterwards!!
whoopsy section can be quite good in ASDA's - good idea freezing the bread! Thanks! My LBM - December 2010!

If you mean reduced bread in Asda then I'd agree. For everything else, there's always loads of stuff in the reduced chiller section because the reductions are so poor nobody buys it! They used to be good (at least 50% off) but no longer.0 -

Pasta is a brilliant one. At the moment I am living on homemade soups (veg of course), jam sandwiches and anything with tuna in it as I am on less than £20 per week. I could just do with Tuna pasta tonight mmmmmmmmmmm0

Pasta! Of course, thanks Mrs S. A tin of smart price toms and a bit of garlic thrown in. I usually do a homemade soup in my slow cooker during the week using any leftover veggies and a bit of pearl barley. I sometimes cheat and throw a cheap packet of veggie soup from ASDA - it gives it a nicer taste. My LBM - December 2010!

One month does not equal four weeks, btw.0 -
£50 for a family of 4 including cleaning products, I do double that and there is only 2 of us
Me too - There are three of us and I spend £100 each week. I shop around too and look for bargains but can't seem to reduce it much below that. I make most things from scratch and the only "premium" things I buy are andrex, Cravendale and dry cured bacon.Jane

£50 a week equals £200 BTW.
A 4 week month would be £200, a five week month would be £250.
We are a family of 3 (2 adults, 1 3yr old, 1 cat) and spend £45-50 per week, this is making most things from scratch, not buying fancy brands (exept Cravendale/Pure milk)- we only have Tesco (recently got a bigger one but not an extra by any stretch!), Coop, Lidl and local shops.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Search for "cheap family meals" "cheap recipes" etc on the board and you will find loads of ideas. There have been a lot of threads like this recently so have a look back through the last few pages.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0
