Beadle, a banana in the evening would be easy to eat, but really you do need to try to get him to see the dietician. To be frank, not trying to be unkind, but with his weight, if he's refusing to eat a snack before bed, it's not about not fancying it, it's about getting at you or expressing his inner demons, it's not cos he's full, is it?

    Hi guys

Not sure if I'm in the right spot, if not can someone direct me?

I'm looking for a few tips and cheap meal ideas. I have £50 a week to feed 2 adults and 2 teenagers and 3 cats. The £50 will also have to cover cleaning/toiletries. Any ideas??

    Thanks x

I'd try the Old Style board, lots of ideas there, also this website is run by Weezl and is highly recommended

Is this a joke? £217 per month - perfectly adequate budget - just buy everything as normal. Why is there any need for advice?

I would plan what meals you are going to have for the week include all meals, packed lunches etc and perhaps keep a few pounds to the side for bread and milk.

write a list for what you need and just buy what is on the list, that's the bit I struggle with.

    good luck.

Thank you ixia and Sarah - will do a meal planner and see how it pans out. I can't stick to my lists either! Will just have to send hubby to supermarket :D

  • Ive found that making lists is helpful but sometimes i do deviate a little, try things like buying out the whoopsy section cos it stuff that will be fine put in the frezzer for when you need them also the reduced bread at the bakery for sandwiches for lunch i buy reduced baps and freeze them and take them out when i need them. I also plan out meals for the week as well thats really helpfull so only buying what you need. will the cats eat a cheaper brand of food??
