No buying unnecessary toiletries February 2014

I have decided that I won't be declaring freebies as INs as the challenge is no 'buying' unnecessary toiletries. So far I've been declaring everything but think I've only actually bought about 5 thingsNever say never0

I've found loads of stuff (many samples) that I didn't know I had when I made my list. I don't want to declare them as in's, but it's going to bring my stash back upNo more goo hoarding!

Rosemary - I was the same when I first heard about bee venom, if I remember rightly I read at the time they do something to make them release a sting. It still does not sit right with me really.
No uu to report, things are moving a bit slower now but still not one single in so far this month.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I have some of this, I can't stand it, it's so greasy. Burt's Bees is a product line I really wanted to love but so far have been unimpressed with the stuff I've tried
UU: Bioeffect EGF serum (sample size, from my You Beauty Advent). WDNBA the price tag is ridiculous and I didn't see a difference to my skin at all.I bought one of their big goody bags once and pretty much hated everything in it. The smell and textures were particularly yuk. I just don't understand what people see in this stuff, especially given the price.
Out of all the BB products I've tried I've only liked the body lotion and lip shimmers. Why did I buy the gift sets from Sainsbury's when they were heavily reduced then??Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I have decided that when I've got rid of a good chunk of my stash I'm going treat myself to a few lush products. The reason behind this is that about 2 years ago I dyed my hair and had a huge allergic reaction, which afterwards seem to sensitize me to everything and anything strong smelling made me wheeze and I had to use an inhaler. I also was terrified of using any product apart from make up which is partly why I've ended up with so many products as I got them for presents and didn't use them.
Obviously LUSH, one of my favourite shops was totally off limits as I couldn't even walk past without the smell making me wheeze, and had convinced myself I would be allergic to everything. To cut a long story short I've been into LUSH a few times recently (Only bought a lip scrub, my only IN this month) and was totally fine and would like to try some of their products I haven't seen before.
Can anyone give me reviews on :
1) Marilyn hair treatment- Fancy it to lighten my blonde hair as obviously can no longer dye it
2)BIG sea salt shampoo (also the sea salt spray if any of you have used it?)
3) Black stockings (tinted body bar thing)
4) Which of their body scrubs is your fave?
I want my money to be invested wisely so I thought I'd ask the expertsFrugal Student!!!0 -
A UU for me L’Occitane Cherry Blossom shower gel, very sad, I love this but it is expensive...perhaps I'll treat myself when the other 30 shower gels run out:eek:
Debt free and busy treating myself:)
No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales0 -

I've been using Lush for almost 15 years and have pretty much tried everything;
1) Marilyn - As I'm a brunette, I haven't tried this but I used to love Arabian Brights which was the same but with Henna added to it. If it's the same idea, you won't really notice much difference to the colour (maybe a slight lightening effect) but your hair will be smooth and nourished.
2) BIG - it's a lovely shampoo, you only need to use a little bit and it really cleanses the hair well. Maybe a little too well as it can strip any colour from your hair but it smells amazing. I've used the sea salt spray and it does the same job as a lot of other salt sprays (nice textured hair) but the nozzles are a bit hit and miss, so you might end up drenching one section while the rest of your hair is bone dry.
3) I've used the lighter of the 2 stockings bars and it was ok, nothing special really. I wouldn't invest in it again.
4) Rub Rub Rub is probably my favorite body scrub that they do. The sugar scrubs either disintegrate or get really really hard and it becomes painful to use them.
I have another UU to report - Nuxe Dry Oil 10ml - Would buy again as this seemed to really improve the moisture levels in my skin. I have another mini to use and then I'm on to my Clarins Lotus facial oil.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

I can't comment on the other products you ask about at Lush as I haven't tried any however I love Porridge soap which is a scrub. Leaves my skin so soft.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I always thought bees died when they used their sting, these seemed okay but not sure I really agree with using them for cosmetic reasons anyway, I just sent for the freebie not knowing about the bees0 -
Thanks to all for the congratulations!
Can't remember if I'd said but we got hassle from MIL who after asking OH why he was getting married and being downright cheeky she laid on this big guilt trip of how devastated she would be not to be there
Now I don't give two hoots whether she's there or not but I do care about what he thinks and I don't want it to cause a rift between us and her so we are now getting married on 31st Oct
I'm quite used to the idea of it being Halloween now, and we wouldn't have changed anything had we actually laid down any cash, but we were almost good to go anyway so it's not like I still have to frantically plan anything anyway
As we have longer, I'm now considering an all inclusive wedding package at a hotel/complex and I'm cool with that, I'm just gonna make it as fun as I can so the attention isn't all on meand it does mean I can invite some of my close friends who are far and wide. And they swaying thing is that OH says we can get a photo booth if we can afford it lol!
Sorry for such a long, off topic post but thought you may all like to be kept up to date
I'm getting married on the 1st November - so that's two No More Toiletries thread weddings in two days
And congratulations by the way!"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0
