Hope you are suitably proud of what you have achieved :T:T:T.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • Aww thanks GG, yeah I am. I mean mines only a pinch of most peoples mortgages on here but I've done it all on my own. I've sacrificed a few things along the way but the future looks bright :)

    Thanks :D
Bank shows I have £938 left plus charges.
I thought I would feel better about it than I do as I have worked towards this for the last 7 years and I will finish 16 years early but I think because the spare money is already spoken for with lots of house improvements over the next couple of years I dont feel like it is finished yet if that makes sense. I imagine I sound 'ungrateful' for want of a better word of the situation I am now in. A woman at work has just paid her mortgage off this week and she is 65! So I have a few years of mortgage free before I retire at least :)

Maybe so, but you have freedom of choice, to do whatever you want to do with it now, you didn't have that before :)

Just think of all the "fun" you can have deciding what you want to do with it :D

Whereas before - a large sum was spoken for :(

I know thats the case and hopefully once the house is done it will be life changing, which sounds daft but I'm so embarrassed by the state of the house at the moment and it will be nice to get it done loan-free :)

We've been MF since July - but haven't noticed any difference finance wise as yet as we've had new doors and windows and a new boiler and have saved for a new kitchen (when we find one - argh!) and a Florida holiday. BUT - without the freedom of being MF we wouldn't have been able to achieve all of that without borrowing for it. It is nice doing stuff to the house without massive credit - and I have to say that we really noticed the difference in the house this Winter with the combination of an efficient (and working!) boiler and non-draughty doors and windows - we've been toasty warm! :D:D It makes it all worthwhile, ND

Yeah I have plans for at least another 2 or 3 years. But it will be nice to be able to just do it. My boiler is the first thing I need to do which wont be cheap as I need to move it out of the box room (stupid place to have it!)
Will have fun doing mood boards. I keep changing my mind for the designs for my bathroom and kitchen. It is so difficult to choose. Would love to get a bespoke one done but the cost would be extortionate!
