Hi folks!
This is my first post on these forums. (go easy!)
Thanks TraderDave, I was really pleased to come across this thread as the exact same ticket has just been issued to me on Saturday 01/02. and the same car park. I'm trying to get my head round all the great info and advice on these forums!
TraderDave can you explain your quiery with the signage ,what is your thinking? I would like to use this in my letter.0 -
Please start your OWN new thread. You will not get assistance in THIS thread. (We require all cases to be handled separately, so as to avoid conflicting information being posted).0

Welcome to MSE! You need to read the NEWBIES thread which calls to you to 'read it first' at the top of the forum:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163
And you have hijacked Trader Dave's thread here...yes we know the PCN is similar but having several cases on one thread just doesn't work with a parking forum where we give specific one-to-one advice to win a case.
You need to start your own thread - but please, only to ask any questions you may have AFTER reading the NEWBIES thread. It helps us not to have to repeat what you can easily read first, there.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi Doccer,
Yes it looks like they have been busy with the 'leaving site' scam over at moorgate.
I've just received my FINAL REMINDER which it seems is auto generated 14 days after the NTK is sent. I will not respond as I have stated my wish for a Popla code in my first appeal letter.0 -
Ok, I've just received my rejection letter from UKPC. Basically saying they don't believe the reasons given in my first appeal letter are valid and drivelling on about liquidated damages and the case of 'Robophone Facilities V Blank'???
They have failed to provide a POPLA code which I clearly requested and have said I now have 35 days to pay the £100. What's the next move guys?0 -
double check all the paperwork for any buried popla codes
if there are none, complain to the BPA as per the NEWBIES thread post #6 due to UKPC not following the last BPA newsletter about this , he will want copies of all letters so far0 -
Thanks Redx,
I think I'll draft a letter to ukpc making the point that they have ignored the request in my first letter for a POPLA code and requesting that they send one. I will also let them know I have complained to the BPA.
Has anyone got any experience of doing this and did you get a reply? I will draft a letter now to the address in the newbies sticky and include copies of all correspondence.
Thanks in advance.0 -
Yep we've seen this loads of times and UKPC will then cough up the golden ticket of the POPLA code!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just check first their rejection letter as sometimes the 10 digit number is on the bottom if not write:
Dear UKPC
Further to my appeal, as registered keeper, dated xxxx and your subsequent rejection dated xxxxx, I note that you failed to supply a valid POPLA code.
I would like to remind you that as an AOS member of the British Parking Association, this is in direct breach of your Code of Practice. As obtaining registered keeper details relies on AOS members to adhere to the Code of Practice and your KADOE contract with the DVLA, it would appear that your failure to supply a valid POPLA is a direct act of misrepresentation.
Please note that formal complaints are now being prepared to both the British Parking Association and the DVLA regarding this matter.
In view of this and to save any further embarassment to your company a valid POPLA code must be provided. My costs in dealing with this matter are now starting to accrue as per the terms outlined in my original appeal to you, however these will be waived should you confirm this parking charge is cancelled by return.
