So breaking the law on at least two accounts then.

Is it illegal to use your phone while parked now? I guess having the engine running is the part that's the problem.

It's a bad of shopping on the floor. It's not part of the sky, it's not part of the sea, of course it's part of the land! And some tw*t drove over it.

On the floor? Did the incedent happen indoors?

Go on then what's your thinking?

Interested to see where you are going with this one.

It's normal practice on MSE to find out who you can sue. If this took place in a privately owned car park, then someone on here will explain how the owners of the car park are liable.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

If it didn't take place in the OPs head, I would assume it took place on a supermarket car park given the circumstances. Still wherever it took place someone will own the land but I cant see how the landowner is liable in anyway.

This appears to be a case of two people lacking common sense coming together and one posting the result on here.

I didn;'t check what was in her shopping lots of cans, some groceries and I distinctively remember ketchup lol.

I got in the car 5 minutes ago after doing my shop, and had the engine running and AC going to clear up the condesnation on the windows. I was talking on the phone in the meantime so wasn't really all to concerned about what was going around me.

Then i finished my call, put on the hazards and reversed out as normal and went over something and then I stopped. She was on the phone too so she put all her shopping in and mustive forgotton that paticular bag.

I think she was bluffing because she wanted me to crap my pants about increased premiums and give her £20 to replace the grocerries. I was having none of it.

She's lucky it wasn't a bigger object that could scratch and damage my car. Because I would be looking at claiming on her insurance for creating a danger for me.

Why would you put your shopping down at the back of someone else's car? Surely when packing your car you would set any bags down at your own boot or door? Perhaps shopping bag lady put the bag down in a hurry to answer her mobile? In which case the blame, I would think lies equally with both of you. You, for potentially not expecting the unexpected and her for overreacting to her own silly mistake. Give her a tenner - she gives you a tenner, problem solved.

That scenario is a possibility, definitely. But less than 12 hours ago I witnessed a similar situation in a Tesco car park. I caught sight of the bag being run over, watched the two parties speak and then the guy paid the girl something. I only realised it may be a scam by the way the girl was laughing on the phone after the guy drove off. And reading this....
