G24 CPC Final Notice

Hi All,

I've been reading through the various posts but can't find the information that I want. Apologies if I'm missing the obvious!

I've just received a Final Notice from G24 dated 28th January 2014 for parking at B&M in Grimsby on 24th November 2013. They state that a CPC Notice was issued on 4th December, if it was, it certainly wasn't received by me and they are saying that as I didn't respond within 14 days, the £50 charge is now £90.

We did shop at B&M but I'm fairly sure that we only bought a few small items and paid cash and probably don't have the receipt.

What should I do?

Regards,

Graham.

    Many thanks.

Does it matter that I've not received the original notice as it obviously wasn't received within 15 days?

G24 struggle to follow any process and have broken contracts with their own suppliers. They've lied, bullied and provided non-compliant signage ( which the BPA turned a blind eye to ).

Ignore the con artists as you're past the point of appeal. G24 don't do court.

Just to be 100% clear. Before this letter, what correspondence or tickets have you had from G24 relating to this matter?

Nothing whatsoever, no ticket on the car and no initial notice as implied in this final notice. Prior to it's arrival today, I had no knowledge of any of this.

I think I would complain to s clark at the BPA and provide a copy of the letter or letters you have received, stating that no other previous letters were received (maybe to the dvla too)

then if they do give you a popla code, they are probably as stupid as PE and JAS and others to give you a nov 2013 popla code that would now be invalid !!

in which case you complain yet again, on that basis too
  • Thanks guys.

Something else has just occurred to me re the missing/not sent parking notice: at the time, I had only had this car for 2 weeks, when I taxed it and handed in the vehicle reg document, the Post Office told me that DVLA were well behind with these things and in fact, I only received the new reg document some weeks afterwards.

I wouldn't mind betting that G24 sent the original notice to the previous keeper, that would then explain why it took them 6 weeks to chase this up.

Would it be worth challenging them on this i.e. that they hadn't notified me within 15 days or should I just ignore them totally?

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Regards,

    Graham.

dont do their job for them

just complain to the bpa and dvla and let them decide whats next in your saga

yours is not to reason why.......................... blah blah

yours is to get a popla code and beat them at popla, nothing else matters, unless they cancel it

Am I able to get a POPLA code as the letter states that I must have contested the charge within 28 days which I couldn't do. According to them I have foregone my right to be heard by POPLA.

you can be given a popla code at any time by any PPC and it says so in the NEWBIES - READ THIS FIRST thread , the one I linked you to in post #2

if you are going to believe everything a PPC tells you, you are doomed I tell you, doomed !
