I appreciate people taking time to reply. Looking for links and things takes time.
Have good holiday.x“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.”0 -
Firstly, I am officially a plank...its a tab 3 not 2!
Took it into CPW repair centre this morning. It was nothing obvious so they have sent it off to their main repair centre, thinking its a software fault or knacked battery.

Well it looks as the they've acknowledged there is a problem, so that's good. They're hardly going to call you back and say there's nothing wrong with it. Remember that when it is ready for collection, two things. 1) if it's a new tablet, you want a newly dated receipt which acts as guarantee and 2) if it's your tablet repaired, ask if the guarantee can be extended.
Then, ensure you photocopy the receipt. The reason being some receipts can fade, plus of course if you loose one you've always got the other, safe hopefully.
Did they say how long you would need to wait?. I'm aware you will be hearing "dad is it ready yet".This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
(I'm mum!!!)
I took Joe with me, and he listened to everything they said. We have a 2 week timescale for it to be returned and a tracking website to be able to keep an eye on the repair progress. This means that he can check it himself.
It has been sent to CPW repair centre at Birmingham, and if they can't help its Samsung for repair or replacement. Brilliant advice about the receipt and warranty though, that wouldn't have crossed my mind, thank-you.
As I said CPW have been brilliant and their customer service has been excellent.“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. Sounds good to me. Although we are away from home currently, my tablet is a godsend. No longer do I have to ask to use someone else's laptop, just their wifi. My issue is with a mifi which I am either unable to understand or is faulty. When I get home I'll try to sort out. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. You put a sim card in like a mobile and the mifi acts like a mini router allowing you access to the internet whilst on the move, some use a smart phone if they dont have a mifi.
Indeed they do. I have an entry level smart phone, but more importantly, have very little data allowance on my package so don't use it as I don't want to exceed it. There is one company ovivo that do a sim for £20 and that gives you a set allowance of data once a month for no more money other than the inital £20. You put their sim in the mifi, sort out settings, then off you go. In fact if you look at my posts, you will find the discussion thread where someone that has one, offers their opinion.
can't give you the link as I can't do cut&paste on tablet. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
