Galaxy tab 2..won't turn on

I will let you know. I really have tried everything recommended, and even the man I spoke to in the repair centre didn't suggest anything else:huh:
I am going to take my son with me, and we will go to the repair centre in town. Apparently they will be able to tell me if they can do it in store, or if they have to send it off. Either way, I get to spend some time with the lad and we can get it sorted out (hopefully!!).
Thankyou all again, I am so glad I wasn't being a plank, and appreciate the helpful advice.“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.”0 -
On a side note...
Doesn't the tab 2 use a proprietary connector rather than micro USB? I really have no idea what else he could have plugged into it that would have fit.0 -

Nor me!! Haven't a clue what it was from.“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.”0 -
How long have you held the power button for? I have had to hold it down for 30 seconds + when my battery when completely flat and had to recharge.0

Held it down for over a minute several times. Still nothing. It's just not even coming up with the battery symbol.“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. I'm not going to suggest you will have any more problems, but I am sure there are a few things that might be important when returning anything that appears to have a fault and hopefully someone will be able to be more precise than me, so keep looking at this thread until you leave for the shop.
I think, that depending on how long you've had the item will determine if they have to send it for repair or offer refund/replacement. Either way, I'd suggest you take all packaging and receipts etc. If you get someone you don't feel overly confident, ask for manager.
The interesting this this week is the Carphone Warehouse and Samsung are enjoying much good publicity

and they won't want anything to tarnish this, so stay cool and allow them to rectify whatever is causing the problem. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
THANKYOU.
I just want it sorted for my son, and appreciate any help they can give me. I'm not overly confident with these situations so am likely to say yes to pretty much anything that gives me a happy outcome!!
He bought it 29th Dec 2013.“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.”0 -
Just wanted to add, I will look here again later tonight, then early tomorrow, but then we're going to our daughters and they have no phone/internet (TT) currently, so I won't be able to monitor anything, unless I sit in a wifi place and I haven't done that before, but I will be back as soon as possible. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Islandman, your help has been invaluable, but don't worry.
Have a lovely weekend with your family, and I will let you know how I get on on Saturday morning.
Many thanks again.“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.”0 -
As an aside. I now learn that copper wires have been tampered with and as such, many lines have been affected. I am not holding hope of accessing the net this side of the weekend. Speaking of which, I am away for almost a fortnight, but when I can, I will be back.
As for my tab. I have recently installed "Pocket", on laptop/tablet and phone. So when I find something I want to read/see etc, and haven't time. I click on an icon and whatever it is that's on the screen, is saved in the "Pocket". That way even when you're off line, you have things to read/see ie newspapers/video's (youtube).
With all this carefully planned for my journey I put my tablet on charge to ensure it lasts much of the rail journey. Just checked if it was 100% and I hadn't ensured it was connected properly and I have to start charging now. ugh!
I have noted you seem to be quite appreciative. That is a good quality. Anyone can click a "thanks" button, but to take a few seconds more to write down how you value help/assistance shows it is meant. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
