Does anyone else here "exclude" certain essentials like this?I think it would take a change in my mindset to start calling them NSD's when I have actually, physically spent money.
I just find it annoying.:(
I don't "exclude" them as such but I have a budget for them. Each week I allow £70 for groceries across the week. That's usually £50-60 on a Monday and the remainder on a bread and milk run around Thursday. If I stick within budget it's a NSD. Same with petrol. I allow £50 per month and have a little added income for what I need as I give a colleague a lift and he gives me £10 a week (half of what his bus fares would be so we both benefit)
As such I'm able to declare NSDs 13 and 14 for Saturday and MondayFor me NSDs are about cutting out the non-essential spends and the frivolities. I also don't count debt repayments as spends, when I did I'd get a feeling of pride for getting closer to my DFD then kick myself for "losing out" on a NSD if that was all I spent. I've beaten myself up enough over being in debt (and continue to do so) I don't need to add to the burden.

Why too chicken to join? What do you think we are going to do to you if you don't collect any NSDs, come round and chop your legs off?
No....more likely tie you up and force feed you Igor's pickled ferret and chutney sandwiches washed down with a glass of turnip Chardonnay......92 vintage.....by that I mean 1892.......
Seriously, sign up for March (I am sure the link will be posted soon) and have a go!One life - your life - live it!0 -
And talking of NSDs...because I had already put aside the money for the Ringtons tea man from cash drawn out a previous day, I consider that money already spent so will claim today as NSD number 14 - 2 over target!!!!

Go Nargle!!! (erm just out of interest Nargle - those ferret and chutney sarnies aren't still the ones from Valentine's Day .... 2010 are they?)
