I love this challenge too chicken to join but what an amazing journey you folks are on very inspired.

You'll never know if you don't give it a try...it's quite fun and we have a laugh on the way.

For me, hopelessly lost count, far too much carp going on in my life at the moment, but will try to have a count up when I'm sat waiting at the dentist :rotfl: as I don't want to let the team figures down, and I'm still an NSDer even if I am drowning in confusion at the moment.

Oh well, today is a new day, have a good one

  • Whick leek and choc dessert did you mean, the one with or without anchovies?

    With,of course!
Well if Hubert takes over the catering for St David's Day I recommend you avoid the leek soup, especially if he starts crossing his legs.....

    Poor Hubert,still battling incontinence I see...Yes Hubert,that's leek soup,not leak soup.Phew!
So, Igor, we have bacon and laver bread butties, leek soup, daffodil curry, buttered(not blubbered) bara brith, leek and chocolate surprise, plus lots of lovely strong tea....now when you make the daffodils curry, make sure the daffodils are cooked right through. Remember the last St David's Day when Hubert got food poisoning from eating too many raw daffodils bulbs? He was rushed to hospital but came out in the Spring......

Don't all rush at once folks!

sazzie I hope things pick up for you soon.

My final D/Debit of the month went out this morning as expected, which meant I had a chance to spend.... and boy have I done just that !!

Spent over £86 (not including the D/Debit) before I even left the house
(A dozen each of AA and AAA rechargeable batteries, a large charger for using at home, a compact one for taking away with me, 3 second hand CDs, a new USB3 cable for one of my external disks as both external drives make funny noises and inform me I need to format the drive when using the one cable, and a load of cases to store 4 AA or AAA batteries - safer and tidier than plastic bags)

Then into the city where I spent £7.16 on books (cheap store closing for refit, so low priced books that had already been reduced to clear were now 50% off the lowest displayed price), £7 on a couple of magazines, £3.80 on the bus fare home (I walked the 10.5 miles in), oh! and £120 on a backpack ready for my long distance walk !!!!

Humunguous spendy day today because I got paid. But, after a Mr S shopping delivery, a trip to the wholesale butchers and greengrocers, plus one or two other shops, and renewing my car tax.......and taking off this month's standing orders and direct debits.......and setting money aside for the hairdresser and other regular incidentals that make life worth living.....my bank account looks pathetic once again. Still, it's only 4 weeks to next payday......and I have the wherewithal to make meals for most of the days between now and then. Time to get frugalling again, folks!
Work tomorrow so might squeeze in a final NSD then.

Sadly caved into a rubbish coffee on the train this morning to wake me up as I felt so groggy and cold returning. A long day today working too. £2.35 spent and I'll miss my target this month - boo!

  • That's #19 for me today.

I've decided that buying bananas will not count as a spend.I get through a lot of bananas, and prefer them not too brown and spotty.

    Payday tomorrow.

    Payday tomorrow.

I have some just like that here, must turn them into a loaf.

Well unexpected nsd #17 mainly because I didn't get out for lunch, which was a bit annoying as I had a top to return and it was the last day to do so. Hopefully the store will let me exchange at current value. Thought I had longer on the receipt, that will teach me

Frugal meal tonight, last of the Xmas turkey crown oven nested with half a pouch of Philly stir and serve garlic and herb sauce. Green beans from the freezer and sliced then fried a few mushies that were on their way out and saut!ed them with some spinach I'd frozen before it turned a while back. Rather nice if I do say so.

Dinner also planned for tomorrow :A

Freezer getting a little low on meat now so will stalk the whoopsies when I next go shopping. As OH is veggie I feel guilty paying full price for meat when he won't eat it, and I sometimes like the challenge of thinking what to do with it when it's whoopsies. Think I watched too much Ready, Steady, Cook! as a student :rotfl:

Seems to be car tax month all round, but like you say nargle at least it's a short month. Lots of people seem to mix that one up thinking Feb pay comes sooner because of 28 days , but it's not, it's March. :)
