cheryl I often hide sorry looking veg in my lasagne. I put a layer of veg then the mince on top, then pasta, mince, pasta and white sauce. Or I put the veg on the bottom layer of pasta sometimes too. Works a treat for peppers, spinach (wilt first to get the water out), courgette, mushrooms. Prob aubergine too as a kind of moussaka variation.

    JAN NSD 11/16

  • I've just been sat wondering how I'm going to manage to have a NSD tomorrow when it's my night I don't get home until bedtime, when I remembered OH is looking after me he says, so will be paying for my tea tomorrow :-) so hopefully tomorrow will be a NSD. However, back to previous days...I had to buy a birthday present on Monday, but managed a NSD yesterday taking me up to 4 whole NSDs this month. Gosh they are a bit elusive (or feel it!) Today was a little spendy as I had to go to Mr T for some essential supplies (and still forgot tea bags for work :( argh!) then nearly got blown over on the way home!

It's generally broccoli (goes to seed), cauliflower, baby sweetcorn, mange tout and asparagus I have wilting on me. I'm slowly introducing hidden veg into meals (such as peppers in the enchilladas I served tonight, and courgette in bolognese), but I have to be careful as I have a son doesn't like veg and will throw a whole meal away if it looks 'suspect' :o

Yesterday was NSD #7 for me :D

Today will be spendy because we're out of lots of foodstuffs that are essential!
