Nope, if you got it from Carphone Warehouse for example, o2 wont touch it..
If it's a Nokia you can return it by their (Nokia's) Freepost service and get it returned to your house in a couple of days. For me, with no service centres near it's by far the quickest option. And their warranty is for 2 years and doesn't matter where you bought it.

Who cares? O2 sound like they're full of hot air and there are PLENTY of alternatives!! Let competition be the judge! I'm never sure why ANYONE would buy direct from a network in any case. The warranties etc. are all available and just as good going through some of the dealers. About time people woke up to the spin all these companies give total value to and saw what lies beneath!

I have to agree that in the last 4 yars every one of my phones has broken down before 12 months. O2 have always replaced it with a refurb though, so no down time.

My 12 month contract expired with O2 in Nov 06, but i'd forgot about it and it kept going. Speaking to O2 retentions two week ago i got no joy over 4 calls in 4 days.

The best they offered me was a Sony W880i (think thats right, the new thin one) - for £49.99. It's my self-employed work and personal phone, my bills are never low and i've been with O2 for 5 years. I was annoyed, so started looking at other deals in town that weekend.

I called into the O2 store in Hartlepool. They offered me any phone for free. I walked out with a Nokia N95 on a 12 month upgrade at no cost at all. May be worth trying the stores if you have one local.

I tried my store and they were as useless as o2 direct!

What tariff did you have to get to get the n95 free?
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

It was a 12 month upgrade. I'd always had 1000 mins and 200 texts free, for £35 a month.

I have sinced called O2 direct and reversed it to 200 mins and a 1000 texts though, and they reduced it to £25 a month.
