YouTube idiots
If your one of these then maybe you can offer some insight. But why is it YouTube is flooded with camera clips produced by motorcyclists and cyclists, whilst i accept many have recorded some outrageous driving, a vast amount seem to show the biker as nothing more than a self righteous tool.
So why do some feel the need to post every incident on YouTube? And why do these same people seem to actually look for trouble?
And why do they read the number plate in to the camera then post the number plate in the videos title like the driver will forever be punished? Do they not realise at some point the driver will sell the car on?
The best one I've seen is a motorbike whose key trait was revving his/her engine loudly as a sign of agression - made me laugh when the rider jumped a red then acted like a tool when they had to slow down a hundred yards later as a motorist was driving very slowly/casually.
Just seems some of these riders need to get over themselves and chill out a little

I saw one the other day where a car had encroached on the bicycle bay at traffic lights, and one of the cyclists started saying this is a bicycle bay, why have you stopped here etc.
So far, fair enough. Its a minor traffic violation and which if you are a cyclist could be worth commenting on.
However, the driver ignores his and when the lights go green, the car drives off into the distance whilst the cyclists follow up until then next red light. At this point the same cyclist feels the need to bang on the passenger window, screaming 'you f***ing t*t' at the top of his lungs.
He then gets hilariously knocked out by the passenger.
On a serious note, it just shows how easily a minor, non threatening incident can be blown up into a conflict situation when one party feels the need to get on their soap box about something that isnt that important.0 -
I think its because there are a lot of nut jobs who post stuff on youtube and also comment on there.
Really banal stuff on there like "just look at the way this guy was in the wrong lane"... i mean really, have people nothing better to do than record, edit and upload driving clips to youtube?0 -
That BBC documentary a while back with vigilante cyclists left me incensed. The main guy on it purposefully went out of his way to look for trouble and goad motorists into conflict. i think as soon as he strapped a camera to his head he felt as if he was starring in his own version of one of those police car chase TV shows. Needless to say he fed off youtube comments.
Anyone who goes round banging on car windows screaming undeserved vitriol at motorists deserves all they get.0 -
I guess where some of this find this weird in that we wouldnt dream of uploading said videos on others mistakes until we are perfect drivers ourselves... i dont think ill ever be a perfect driver...
I'm gonna try and remember all my old reg plates now and see if any of my previous antics have been captured...0 -
one aspect it makes the person watching more aware of cyclists if its a genuine video about a stupid driver. secondly if there is a incident then backing the video up on youtube limits the potential for mistakenly erasing the video that's important. more so I think cyclists think because they wear a go pro etc they leads them to false sense of security that someone wont bother giving them smack in the face for the barrage of unwarranted abuse they dished out. I watch them just to lauhg at the cyclist getting frustrated and irate thinking I got a camera im safe he wont knock me out for calling him every name under the sun and knocking his wing mirror off.0

I've seen some brilliant U tube clips, of incredible driving skills. If the police ever worked out who where and when, the drivers would be banned.
But if you want a legal madness Search for Nova Driver in Irish rally rams subaru. It's absolutely hilarious and definately the language is not work safe.0 -
I would have agreed with the poster until a few months ago. My daughter bought a bike to train for triathlons. I borrowed one to accompany her and gave up after a month. The attitude of drivers to cyclists is horrendous (there are exceptions)
I really did fear for my safety at times. Many drivers fail to appreciate how much room to allow, roundabouts are especially dangerous.
I also noticed that where cars would never overtake another car on a corner, they would do so to overtake a cyclist.0 -

Where you getting that from? As far as I am aware the aggressive cyclist hasn't turned himself in yet. And if he had had his foot squashed it didn't seem to have an impact on his ability to chase down the Audi or cycle off afterwards.0 -
