First day of half term today and kids have already been trying to kill each other. Am hoping for a SFD, plan to cycle to my Mum and Dad's for lunch then when we get home I need to get on with some cleaning and making bread/pizza dough.
Tonight is pizza night and we are having pepperoni and spicy sausage. Have told the kids if they don't behave they won't get a hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream for supper and that seems to have calmed them down a bit.
I am also hoping that a friend will be calling round with knitting needles later, although I won't hold my breath as she is not the most reliable. If/when she does I am going to go to the wool shop (used to be a 5 minute walk away and I never went, now moved to bigger shop 5 minute drive away:() to get some yarn and get going. The lady who owns the shop is also planning on running dressmaking workshops so will speak to her about that too.
We have a village green at the end of our road and the local churches have been planting spring bulbs every autumn for the last few years. The snowdrops are out and some crocuses but it isn't in full bloom yet, it has flooded at one end twice recently so that won't help I don't suppose.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Yay payday :T had decided on trying to leave all the money alone until 31st when hubby gets paid but was too excited by the healthy looking balance and so I ... Paid £600 off our debt
Hong paid 8.95% of our debt off I am really keen to try and push that up to 10% which I have calculated is an extra £139.80. Not sure if I should just shave that off other budgets now and bite the bullet and transfer the money or if I should be more cautious and wait to see how health DH's pay packet is this month (it varies quite a bit due to a very complicated bonus system). I am hoping March shouldn't be too expensive, no trips or anything planned and only two birthdays (presents will come out of my presents fund pot unless I feel we have enough in the main account) but don't want to leave it too tight and risk going back into our overdraft after any surprises. What do you all think??
Maybe you could put the £140 in a savings account or, if you don't have one you can use, in an envelope and try to work with what is left. Then when DH pay comes in if it's a good one you can bite the bullet and pay it off the debt. If it's not in the account you may sort of forget about it (hopefully) and not need to use it on anything else. BUT you would still have it in an emergency.
I hope this makes sense as I feel I'm rambling a bit. I blame this on the migraine I've had for the last 2 days
On to the challenge. Due to above mentioned migraine and spending the day at home resting yesterday was a SFD as should be today. I have amended my LTW target down to 16 days to reflect the 2 days sick this week but I still won't reach this as The zombies got to me a few times this month, they prevented me from taking my lunch to work....honestly :rotfl:

Good Morning to you all!!!!
Can you believe it's nearly the end of the month. I can tell mainly by the mention of the following month popping up on the thread...:rotfl:AppleMuncher you are very kind mentioning all my current craziness although I am worried that I have not given you all enough attention! However I shall prevail.. push on....fight the good fight and create a March challenge over the weekend! I can tell you are all excited!!:D:D:D
So it's taken me hours to write this and finally submit it as I got distracted... I am going to read through some posty posts now and see what you have all been up to!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
I won't be able to join for March I don't think as I'm on holiday from the 7th until the 18th. As I have my holiday money bought and paid for I might count that whole time as SFDs and join in anyway though
No SFD today as I have a night out tonight and am also needing to go and pick up some bits and pieces for holidays while I can. At least it's a no council tax month so I can use the money for that to pay for clothes :money:
I have a decent amount of money left in the food budget with a week to go so should come in under budget this month (yay!) but will do a weekly shop tomorrow. Next month I'm going to have to provide food for Mr Mooo for when I'm away or he'll end up with scurvy. I'm going to make some ready meals and leave them in the freezer I think!0 -

Thanks Chez this does make perfect sense and is what I will do, that will mean I could potentially have paid off 10% by next Friday (think he'll get paid on the last day of the month). This won't help people this holiday, but we have really enjoyed the free tickets you can get from your MP to go on the House of Parliament Tour. You email your MP with a date in mind and their office sends you a form to fill in with the peoples details, then you get an E-ticket. The tour took about 90 minutes and the guide was brilliant. We are booked for another freebie tour the same way in the summer holidays - climbing up inside Elizabeth Tower to see Big Ben close up! Quite special memories for the kiddies really.
Mothernerd...I can't wait to try the duvet in the bath trampling session. But like the earlier poster, I think I might leave it until the suns out a bit more. Great description though!Thank you.
It's a treasure hunt type game around different parts of London and takes you to places you might never otherwise see/notice. You sign up online (I think you pay a fee but my friend organised it so I'm not sure) and then you go to a certain location and text "start" and they text back the first clue and a question. You solve the clue to the location, go there (we did an all walking one) and find the answer, then text the answer to receive the next clue. It was really fun and took us about 3 hours with a cake/coffe stop. They apparently have different themes/locations/durations
Should be a SFD today but the exhaust fell off OHs car so may need to buy a new car today!LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Well going to be another sfd today, stuck in office alone so will use up tins of soup in my drawers.
Need to sort my hair color out, but will look around properly tomorrow. My roots are nearly white, usually get root touch up and then put another color on week later. Will try and do it in one go this time, hopefully without going too dark.
My food spend is so close to my budget, need few items !
Sorry haven't really joined in as much as usual this month, lets just say this year and bad news is getting worse week by week.
Looking forward to the March Madness or whatever it will be called, Roll on spring folks xLBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Another SFD here too.
Not sure if I take part in March yet as baba is due in 3 weeks. But I should prob try as I'm sensing that March otherwise could be a disaster moneywise as we both will be home for 2 weeks, then I'll be home and not sure how well food planning etc will work.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
So... hopefully today should be SPEND-FREE DAY NUMBER 15!!!!!!
:j
I was meant to be treating my mum to lunch out but my SIL and nephew have just arrived for the afternoon so that isn't happening anymore. (secretly glad as wanted to keep the money).
Can't believe how money-focussed I am. Am cancelling my D1r3ct L1n3 car insurance as they are charging me £100 more than everyone else. So now with tescimos... That's D1r3ct L1n3 now lost over £600 of business because they won't be competitive.
The guy on the phone (cause I phoned to see what they could do) told me that last year I paid £374 for the year... I almost fell off the seat. I can't believe I used to be so careless with money.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Hugs.
P.S: Oh yeah... NSK, Can I opt in to March's challenge please and number 8 if possible please and thank you.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91
