  • Hi bit late but first timer reporting in for 1 February

    Have had
    1/15 NSD
    1/12 fitness if 2 x 15 min walks count!!

Working on good budget based on jan figures -will be around £80 a week for 4 adults and 3 kids (have 2 family members staying for at least another month)

Getting new car this week after accident claims settled and paid....so this month will monitor petrol and usage on new car and use less!!

It's a challenge but def a learning curve!!
  • Happy February zombie destroyers!!

Well I've had a good look through the goals for this month and checked them against my diary and am feeling very optimistic about reaching my targets  Always looks good the day after pay day though eh?! :rotfl:

Anyway there's a few I can ignore altogether - petrol spends - can't drive! Going for coffees - live in the middle of nowhere so easy to avoid! Nights out spending - well I'm pretty much a hermit usually anyway but have nothing booked in this month so should be a breeze to avoid! :D

Just done my food bank donation online (£5 + gift aid) but otherwise today has been a bit disorganised - I'm staying at my mum's til tomorrow so will be looking forward to getting home and checking the food situation and getting access to my spreadsheets again!! A tiny breakthrough today though - found out the Aldi near us is open til 9pm - how did I not check this sooner?! We normally get an online Tesc0 delivery every week but am planning a trek down there on Monday night instead and getting what we need for the week - so will have a very busy afternoon tomorrow but am looking forward to properly getting my teeth sunk in - maybe I've been zombified already?!
  • Thanks for all the baby weaning advice :)

Have thought about baby led but i think he's a bit young at the moment,5 months? It also scares me a little?

I do buy the heinz porridge for breakfast, the last box has lasted me a month and was £2 something. Have stocked up a little in the recent baby events.

Anyway nsd 1 in the bag, and dont need anything today.

Dd asked to go shopping yesterday, its not something we do often and i felt awful saying no, but i knew it would mean unneccesary spending and shes spent all of her xmas money already.

Have just worked out my budgets for the month, serious over spend in certain areas in jan :(
Still here..... but working on that!
  • May I ask why (if you don't want to say that's fine but I am curious if it was debt related..) and whether you know how much? How long do you plan to be with the parentals..?

I live in a static caravan and have to be off site for the month of february, so i am only planning on staying until 1st march.
Mum had been muttering about finding out the current child benefit amount and charging me that, as she did with all my siblings when they came home from uni for the holidays...as she hasn't said any more about it since i'm keeping my mouth shut!

Another spend day today-i need baccy/papers/filters...so should have got them yesterday but just didn't think-facepalm.

I've also been asked to bake bread today and cook dinner. Mim had a game she played with me as a teen-asimilar to ready steady cook-where she would leave the ingrediants she was gonna uade for dinner on the kitchen side and i had to make a meal out of them.

  • I have paid off my overdraft, cleared and closed my N*XT account and I am now working my way through old credit cards with zero balances on them and closing them down 'ONCE AND FOR ALL'.

That leaves me debt free, but with a very tight budget (for me) in order to stay that way until the end of the month. I am determined to achieve this fellow Zombie Warriors!

I have painted my finger and toe nails a sparkly, monster busting, purple, put my lippy on and done my hair. The heroines in these movies always keep up appearances!

Also, I am scheduling in some extra Body Pump (weight training) classes this month too, just in case .......

    Onwards and upwards.

It's not actually called Fat Club is it??.... and YES to a possibly vegetarian February!!! :T

    :rotfl::rotfl: Weight Watchers :D

I doubt we'll be having a veggie February - I could manage fine but Mr Mooo wouldn't be keen!! We do have a LOT of stuff in the freezer to use up though, so I need to get cracking on cooking some of it up. Ideally I want to be putting aside things like chilli and bolognese so that when I can't be bothered cooking it's there and I have something healthy and yummy to eat.

Very spendy day yesterday as Mama and Papa Mooo are in town so I bought tickets to the theatre for myself and Mama Mooo to go and see Evita. She had a lovely time so it was worth the spend as I only see them every few months. If things get tight before payday now (as they might do due to the cost of those tickets!) I can dip in to the council tax payment as that's not due this month :money:

My only 28 Days achievement yesterday was the exercise - walking round town meant I walked nearly seven miles! I have three items ending on Ebay later so that'll be some decluttering done if they all sell. One of the things is two items and it has a bid on it, so I know I've got two items going out of the house tomorrow :j

    Good Morning NSK,

Hope the move goes well and that Dorothy settles in well. I suspect that wherever she goes with you will be OK by her :rotfl:

Have a great and productive day everyone, whatever that means to you personally.

Mine should be batch cooking, washing, general housework and tweaking the budgets. Oh and a SFD :j

My DD was 23 weeks when she first grabbed food off me, but we didn't start properly till she was 26 weeks. I did BLW with both of mine, mainly due to laziness and not wanting to puree stuff!
You know your baby and their development, DD couldn't sit unsupported but she could cane a strawberry in seconds. I read the book and the message boards before hand so I felt prepared.
