    morning all :)

starting the month off on a spendy day :o have my main night out of the month tonight so going for a mexican meal and then drinks/dancing. budget is £50 to include taxi home  going to try and come in under that as thats the last of my cash personal spends until 18th feb although i have still got £50 personal spends in bank (started to keep some in bank for stuff i need to get online and deposits for stuff as was too complicated when i had already withdrawn cash!).

also getting my hair cut but have money put away.

trying to think of anything else i need for the week as dont want to ruin sfd during the week. need ink cartridge but that can come out of debt acc as i need it for mystery shopping and thats the acc the ms money goes into.

another little splurge is im going to book an eye make over at a counter somewhere as planned to do at some point (will use money saved for clothes to buy some products). stuck in a rut for evening eye make up and just realised the table is booked for 6 and my hair finishes at 5 so have an hour to kill as not enough time to go home.

i promise to be good for the rest of the month :p

on the plus side i have £30 worth of mystery shops booked this weekend and £42 next weekend :T

  • Welcome to February everyone!!!

Thanks Kat for running another monthly challenge and keeping us all on the straight and narrow!!!

I've tweaked my signature a little this month and am going back to merging my food and spending money - as they seem to do that anyway...

I've included gym sessions - and am aiming for 3 per week = 12 per month...

I've got my expenses book ready to go so I can write down all my spends...

    Roll on February!!!

    :)

Dh takes turns to drive to work, a week a a time, and this week he's having lifts so allthough we need petrol in the small car, its not going to be this week :)

Baby dragon is now nearly 5 months, and i need to start pureeing, its just deciding what to put in? Any recommendations appreciated? My smoothie maker is at the ready to blitz!

Havent done my budgets yet, but ive no plans to spend today so ill do it later :)

Right, I'm all fired up! Budgets set and sorted already.
SFD 1/15 today being the first

Food 100/200 I did a huge shop last week with lots of tinned and frozen stuff, it's like I knew before we started ;) I got tinned and frozen fruit for the children so we aren't constantly buying apples. I've virtually meal planned for the month, made a huge lasagne last week and was enough for 3 meals for DH and I and 3 portions of bolonaise for the children. Left over money for shopping I am putting in the cash tin as usual and then sending DH a tenner in a purse in his work bag so he can pick milk and other perishables.

Fuel 50/50 after last month i have just filled my car up which she last me the month no problem.

    Thoughts...
    1. DFD is now the 25th of April for me, I'm not going to make the 100 days challenge now due to the speed awareness course cheating me out of £84:eek: however onwards and upwards. I have some overtime booked for this month and will book more for next month.Feeling confident.

    2. I have started sorting out toys and such for fleabay. The money will go into savings for DDs birthday.

    3. Outing- only one this month, DH and I got a gift voucher for a fancy meal so we are looking forward to that. It's my birthday this month too so we might have a forest walk day out again.

    4. I hate Costas/starbucks etc with a passion and with two young children I'm not really in the position to go for out coffee so this is no problem for me. I only drink black proper coffee at home which i am cutting down dramatically.

    5. Healthier self- more pilates, more herbal tea, more real food and less booze, less coffee and less negativity. Also one does need to be in battle mode for those nasty zombies!

    Feeling good about February :D

Hello Survivors! (Didn't think Hobbitses would much like being present in a zombie themed month, they have enough of creepy looking creatures when it comes to the- orcs, goblins and wraiths!)

Let's kick some Zombie (debt) butt!
    Less of this
    > (rage, desire to splurge on stuff)
More of this----> :D (contentedness, the people/things I am grateful for, smile in the face of debt busting/avoidance!)

    Goals for the month:
      15+ Sfds
      £3-£5 Foodbank Donation
2-3 Exercise Sessions a week (a session For me could be: going for a run, cross country walks, or my combat DVD)
      £80.05 Fuel Budget
Declutter 28 Items (Already made a start on this)

Tiptoes - Absolutely in awe of your cake! :T

My cat is not in the good books at the minute.
He's clawed all the side of a chest of drawers that I chalk painted and waxed last year.
He's a weird cat as he doesn't meow to come in or out. He just scratches on the outside door.
Been to Lidly today and got everything I need for the week and have not spent anything that wasn't on the list.
Sat now with a cuppa and notebook to list everything I bought.
Got ingredients in the freezer for quite a few meals too so that will ease the budget.
Going to do my first half hour exercise now - chopping wood for the wood burner. I shall theen light it and sit in front of it later with a bowl of homemade lentil and bacon soup. Can't wait.

I got the Annabel Karmel book when mine were small and it was great, I used to spend one evening each week making things up then freezing in ice cube trays.

Today is a spendy day, have been to the local butcher this morning and have bought 3lb of lamb neck, have frozen half and the other half is in the slow cooker for tomorrows hot pot. The hot pot should feed 2 adults and 2 kids with a leftover portion for Monday lunch. The lamb cost £5 so good value I thought. Not planning on spending anything else.
