Had loads of computer problems over the last few months and had to have everything set up as a new machine.....then the site didn't recognise me........:( but I've spent the evening sorting it out as I was missing catching up on diaries.

We went on holiday in the caravan in May but had to come home after a week as MIL was in hospital - we didn't expect to see her make her 94th birthday last Saturday but she did. She has been in and out of hospital for the last month and we have been doing the evening visiting. Doesn't leave a lot of time for much else - but she is doing ok and thats the main thing.

So with one thing and another I haven't had chance to get on here.

Things have slipped on the MSE and slimming world front and I felt I had to get back on here to read the diaries and keep focussed. :money::money:

I'm on the countdown to next Friday when school breaks up. I'm ready for some time off:j:j

I find my meals are generally ok beanie - but snacks just jump into my mouth without me realising - need to find some willpower from somewhere - I'll be better next week when I'm not at work with end of term chocolate and cake waving to me from every table..... the children's parents at school are very kind sending foodie stuff in - its a wonder any of us can fasten our zips at the end of term lol....

Its been a long day today - I'd put a chicken in the oven whilst we went out to try a walk at a local beauty spot. We'd just got out of the car and had a phone call that mil had taken another turn for the worse and they were waiting for an ambulance to take her back to hospital. So I headed home to keep my eye on the oven and dh is still at the hospital - I hate sitting around waiting - I hope they keep her in to keep her comfortable.

MSE wasn't what I'd planned yesterday - I was going to a retirement party a the house of a lady I use to work with. I headed into town to get her a voucher for an afternoon tea at an art deco cafeas a gift - its gorgeous and cheapest afternoon tea I've ever come across. I wanted a bottle of wine to take - so saw M&S had dine for £10. I got the meal with wine which worked out really good value.........got home - put the wine in the FREEZER to cool down so I could walk to friends and have a tipple.... Got ready and went to get wine out (it had been in just over an hour) - it had frozen blown the screw lid off and I had a volcano of frozen wine coming out of the bottle and dribbling down every shelf of my freezer!!!!! I ended up having to go to supermarket and getting more wine to take. Plus I ended up going in my car as it was getting late by this time and its a good hours walk.........so I ended up buying 2 bottles of wine and not drinking any as I'd driven there..............had a fab time seeing lots of friends I used to work with. Don't miss the role of my old job but I do miss the people.

Broken up from school and more than ready for my 5 weeks off. I plan some frugal days with cleaning, and using freezer contents. Once the kitchen has been blitzed and everything used from the freezer - I'll 'plan' a mega shop (rather than going out and just buying whatever) and do some batch cooking.

I want to get lots of walking in to try and shed the best part of a stone I've put back on - I could kick myself. I'm tempted to join the gym again but I totally wasted the last couple of 3 months subscription I bought - so I'll try walking more.

Mil is back in hospital and at 94 is looking very frail most of the time and has had us wondering if she'll make the next 10 minutes - then she gets a sudden spurt of energy from somewhere and she looks as if she'll manage another 10 years........... We are covering all the evening visits - it's surprising how tiring it is. sil is doing afternoons.

Had lots of granny cuddles from granddaughter this weekend - she is quite a chatterbox now and is taking everything in..... it was an unexpected weekend but daughter wanted to come and see her gran. I'll be having baby here for a couple of weeks in 3 weeks as dd has to go away with work - can't wait :)

I’ve been onto the builder this morning- hopefully he’s going to finish the pointing on Friday. And send the plasterer out to sort under my bay window in my bedroom which I’ve been waiting to have done since last summer when we had the outside leak sorted....but we’ve had so much other stuff going on it’s been on the back burner. I’m ready to have my bedroom painted now so it’s holding the job up. If he doesn’t show by Monday as he said I’ll find somebody else.
I'm not doing a lot today. I’m aching everywhere as I’ve done too much after my 2 walks in 2 days and bit of light gardening yesterday.
