O2 ups it's tariff

Can some one help me with this, my wife is with O2 and they put their prices up a while ago. Guess what yesterday an email arrived informing her that the price is going up again as of March. Can they do this and most of all can my wife cancel her contract as I think this is a bit much

It's not just about the money
  • No I didn't, thanks very much for that. Typical, 2 increases and they won't let you move. Will recommend that my wife leaves them when the contract expires

You will have a harder time leaving for the inflation rise but they are also increasing their core call / text prices to 40p (+ 14%) / 15p (+25%) IIRC ;)

Bro. A tariff change and a price increase are different thing.

You're getting really confused over on the other thread. Three are introducing new sim only plans + changing price points. They're not increasing prices for existing customers.

They will equate to the same thing for the customers, after all, when the 24 months is up, who is going to want to maintain paying their monthly for their old out of fashion handset?

Well now you're just defending your side whilst falling on your sword.

It's pretty clear that we're talking about mid contract price increases. Tariff changes are obvious and often have prices increase or decrease. For example, I had an old phone I was paying £10pm for. After the contract ended I had the flexibility to go for any phone, however if i wanted to stay on the same tariff with a new phone it was now £11.50. So as you say, prices do go up on new tariffs.

But we are 100% talking about mid contract price increases. Also the contract you're talking about is 12 months... and without a handet...
