If they add a bit of colour to the site I don't have a problem with that choice provided that those of us who have our own avatars can keep them on using them.

I suggest removing all the options and leaving only one that new members can select if they want. E.g.:

kills the annoying new stock avatars, but does not affect anyone's custom self added one.

I agree with Fermi - it is irritating to see people with the same Avatar. Also within the Parking Forum - the PPCs regularly troll and set up accounts - thereby aiding to confusion.

Have to say I also hate the idea. I was thinking that there was something strange going on and maybe these new accounts all with the same picture were some sort of trolling attempt.

I would guess that the overwhelming majority of existing avatars are based on a square or rectangle.
One assumes the people responsible for the new design ought to know that, so were they trying to annoy existing users?
And cutting a square down to a circle saves no useful space, so what is the point? :think:
