    Which is what an Avatar is supposed to be... an ID.
    Forcing people to have the same ones will be pointless.

    I must admit that seeing the same avatar(s) over and over on multiple users is getting more than a touch annoying.

    I've never seen an avatar on MSE, just switch them off in your preferences.

    Just extra ones. They have made it easier for people to include one of their MSE-selected pretty (boring) pictures as their avatar. So we could end up with a couple of thousand people with the same avatar.
