Cancelling Virgin and going freeview

I am thinking of cancelling my virgin package for Tv Broadband and phone, I was thinking of using freeview for the telly but don't know where to get my broadband and phone from does anyone have any advice on the best deals around, I have looked at the price comparison sites and I'm even more confused now, I need a basic tv package and the phone is not important but the broadband has to be fast and unlimited
Always have too much month for my money
CC Balance = £4,371.87
Argos Card = £255.06 - £132.00= £123.06 = PAID

If you are going Freeview, why do you need a 'basic TV package'? All you need is an aerial and your existing Freeview TV.
For phone and broadband, you firstly need a BT based landline installing or reconnecting to get any ADSL broadband service. Sinc broadband is exchange-specific, start with an exchange search on www.samknows.com for your LLU options.

Dump the TV for Freeview, which will let you cease the phone service. Retain BB, which is far superior than anything else that is the kludge of ADSL. Use VOIP as your phone service (over BB) and your savings will be considerable.

If you are in a VM CABLE area then keep the broadband, you will find nothing better.

If you are in an ADSL area then look to a fiber to the cabinet product, BT, Sky etc all offer unlimited deals.

Assuming you are on VM cable already, phone them up, tell them you want to cancel the TV and with any luck they'll put you through to retentions where you'll get a good deal to keep the existing BB and phone. You may have to tell them you're thinking of cancelling the lot to get retentions, but it's where the best deals come from.

Does it absolutely need to be an outdoor aerial? Am sick of paying for a TV service I barely use, was going to replace with Freeview and Apple TV for one-off fees and save a stack of money.

If you are in a poor signal area you will need a decent outdoor aerial to receive Freeview.

You could ditch that and just watch catch up via your broadband thereby saving on the TV licence fee as well.

You almost certainly will need an outdoor aerial to get the full range of Freeview channels available in your area. http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/mytvregion (use the coverage checker option) will tell you where your nearest transmitter is and give you an idea what will be available.

What is the problem with installing one? Around £100 one-off cost, and you'll get back the saving over VM in a few months. You'll have a similar one-off cost for the line install, although deals can be cut.
