Sorry but if people wish to choose hours entering competitions then that is their own personal choice and something they obviously enjoy doing otherwise they wouldnt do it, believe me I would love to be able to do it myself but work all the hours under the sun to keep a roof over my head, I am not cheating anybody, if you google there are a number of companies that offer this service.
Thanks to those to who have supplied helpful info, am taking this up with the magazine itself who I think have made a monumental balls up as just spoke to them and the woman said she would email me rather than talk on the phone, sounds a bit suspect!
I am sorry but imo you are, companies run competitions to promote products if you are not entering them yourself then you are not seeing the promotions hence why the terms tend to rule out 3rd party entries ( and those that don't are probably not aware of 3rd party pay sites )
out of interest how much is it a month?July 2015 Wins- Shaun The Sheep Goody Bag, 4x Books
Year to date: £786
Total to date ( Since 2008 ) = £37,345 :eek:0 -
these companies that you can pay them to enter comps for you... does someone sit there like we do, entering your details in different comps, or is it done by computer 'robot' type thing? ie: the reason most companies have a captcha - to stop computer programmes cheating the system? whichever their method, it IS cheating in my eyes... companies like this give compers a bad name - and if there is an actual person manually entering your details into comps - do you honestly think they actually enter you in most of them... what a con really.. you pay them... they could just enter you in one competition a month... theres no way to prove they are entering you in loads of competitions.. ive heard of these companies, but I never actually thought anyone was silly enough to pay them lol
and nearly every comp terms I read always have terms that state no 3rd party entries, so the company your paying is either breaking a lot of rules if they actually entering you in loads of competitions or they are barely entering you in any if they sticking to the rules!!!April 2014: A CAR!!!!!! :j 60th Anniversary Edition of Playboy mag signed by Hugh Hefner/Family pass to Twinlakes Family Theme Park/Rio 2 Goodies/£15 Promod Voucher/Nivea Sensitive Prize pack/John Frieda Cosmetic bag and bits/Tickets to New Kids On The Block + Meet and Greet0 -

I cannot imagine a subscription comping service is worth the expense, if you are that desperate for money... :eek:0 -
cant be that desperate for money if they chucking it at con companies to line their dodgy pockets....... :rotfl:April 2014: A CAR!!!!!! :j 60th Anniversary Edition of Playboy mag signed by Hugh Hefner/Family pass to Twinlakes Family Theme Park/Rio 2 Goodies/£15 Promod Voucher/Nivea Sensitive Prize pack/John Frieda Cosmetic bag and bits/Tickets to New Kids On The Block + Meet and Greet0

Well think what you like of me at the end of the day at least I actually get up every day and go and work unlike quite a few people in this country who sit on their backsides all day long claiming everything they can get their hands on! I pay into the system thank you, not bleed it dry!
For the person who asked about the service I used yes it is worthwhile in my opinion, I won a samsung galaxy tablet a year ago worth around £400 and my subscription costs a hell of a lot less than that , the company I use definitely enters me as I can see a list of every entry and receive emails daily saying thank you for entering etc and they are aware of the 3rd party thing, I am not divulging anymore info on here as will no doubt be lambasted or it will be googled to death but thanks to those who have kindly given helpful information.0 -

I never said I was desperate for money thank you just that I work a lot of hours to keep a roof over my head and not have to rely on credit for anything I also travel two hours daily to work so factor that in too, the subscription is less than a quid a week so its not expensive0 -
I think you have the right to enter comps in whatever way you want, but I'm just concerned that on the one hand you're working all the hours God send for money, but on the other shelling out for a subscription comp service, and that you could use that money in ways that are more worthwhile for you. I guess you can sell anything you win, but potentially you could have a lot material assets, when you need liquid funds.
I don't know that I see it as cheating, incidentally, if the company are aware of the 3rd party limitations, and don't act 'illegally'.
Hopefully the magazine's email will explain their position on the win, and you can use it to file a complaint with the IPM, if necessary.0 -

Thanks for the clarification
Don't know what kind of phone you have (or if you work on your journey to work), but for those comps your sub service can't enter bc of the 3rd party rules, if you have signal en route to work, you could enter then. Roboform do an app for iPhone (and I think maybe Android too) that I use. Not quite as quick as computer, but still...0 -
People are going off topic here
It depends on what the promoters terms and conditions say
Some say nothing, some say a matter of days up to a week in some cases and others may give longer.
I have entered competitions before where if you didn't answer the phone the first time they tried to ring - the prize would go to someone else.
It is normal for a delivery company to return a parcel to the company that sent it is the person cannot/won't accept it - so it may be that it's just been returned and you will need to reorganise delivery
If you know which company/competition you won you can try to look up the terms and conditions about the prizes being awarded to someone else if there is a delay in claiming
I hope you get your prize. Not really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!0 -
I don't think it's unreasonable to double-check that the delivery was really meant for you, particularly given your previous problems with your credit card. I do tend to just say yes to any deliveries, as I've had a few competition wins turn up without any warning. I've not had a courier phone first though, I think that might have made me query what it was, as you did.
Carry on the dialogue with the company, it does sound like they've made a mistake and you should be due the prize.
NB I think it's unfair of others to have a go at you for using a competition subscription service. I was interested to hear that it's worked for you, as I've not heard from anyone who's used one before. I hope you get this prize sorted out and good luck for more nice prizes in the future.0
