    PPC troll?
I have been suggesting what I believe to be the most effective method of putting these companies out of business. Take away their source of income.

What you are suggesting bantex is based upon the assumption you are dealing with normal honest people.
No you are not, you are dealing with people who made money clamping, liars, cheats, criminals, tax avoiders and general dregs of lying cheating no good crooks.
There is nothing honest about any of them.
    NOT ONE

To make it worse, these crooks, liars, cheats are badging our thick greedy MP's to change laws to make it even easier for them to scam people.
I believe the vast majority of tickets issued are due to easily avoidable infringement of the rules which are clearly stated in nearly all cases. Just look at the last half dozen or so posts which are about overstaying, parking not in bays and failure to get a ticket with no good reason.

I agree that the companies are not always honest, but without the "offences" commited by many drivers, the companies would not survive.

You mean like the person who HAD NO CHOICE because the person next to him had parked over the line? Unfortunately these PPC scum don't take into account (or even care about) mitigating circumstances - all they want is a hefty payout for infringements of their made-up rules.

What surprises me is that there no backlash against the supermarkets and shops using these horrible companies.
I have to admit that there are a very small number of specific circumstances where some parking enforcement is needed, many years ago when these companies were just starting out I actually employed one of them to monitor sheltered housing properties, particularly one near a school and one near a supermarket, because people would park in the property stopping carers, nurses, relatives from parking, and even not leaving enough room for ambulances to go through, and were abusive towards staff challenging them (don't think I would employ them now, knowing what I know about them, but would still need to find some sort of enforcement because people are so inconsiderate).
But I can't really understand why supermarkets treat their customers like that, I've now stopped shopping at Lidl because I don't want to be rushing around when shopping, I got a ticket for overstaying 5 mins when the car park was half empty.
I'm one of those annoying people who like to look at things, choose carefully (and spend good money...). However now I'm forced to just use the car part to visit a local shop because it takes 10 minutes, it's ironic that I can't shop at Lidl but can use their car park for free for 1 hour to shop somewhere else...

They would no doubt add another contravention to their long list, something like!

    Contravention 1001 "Being excessively compliant"

That is not "no choice". That is choosing to park in a space that is (for whatever reason) unsuitable. Just park somewhere else.

It would be interesting to see what contraventions people think are unreasonable. I have read the boards and most do not seem too dire on the face of it.

As said some are now limiting parking in the supermarket to 1 Hour.
In this hour you have to enter, park up, do a full weekly shop, wait for the queue at the only till, pack the bags, put it all in the car, take the trolley back and queue to get out of the car park.

By any stretch of the imagination, it is pushing your luck.

I must say however anyone who goes back for another go after a Dose of parking eye deserves what they get.

I would not use that supermarket to do a weekly shop.

    ANPR

Any PPC who uses ANPR alone deserves to be put out of business. ANPR does not MANAGE parking in any way, shape or form.

Cut out some time and just leave the trolleys, if they moan tell them its their fault. Either that or fill a trollye, get to the checkout at 2 mins to the hour, rush out shouting that you can't wait as you will get a ticket.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
