  • Hi all
Been ages since my last post, nearly threw in the towel.
Mortgage at £95k now, and really struggling with any sort of overpayment.
Working on the swagbucks, its a long slow process though.
Want to try and generate cash through survey sites, but haven't a second to look at this.
Holiday this week, off to centre parcs with little FLC, hopefully there will be wifi access so I can play with numbers while I am off work.
How are you all doing out there?

  • Hi FLC! I'm also back at work. Hope you are fully recovered ( physically, and financially thanks to dominos :p)

No throwing in of the towel here :naughty:

I have found survey sites in general are a pain, and for little reward :o

Have a lovely holiday. Just keep going, the overpayments will come when they do. Otherwise just keep trimming the waste

  • Cheers Bexster

Glad to hear you are back at work.

Just downloading loads of Peppa Pig for the car journey!

£95k seems such a looooong journey for ten years!

Looking forward to five days with the family, centre parcs isnt the cheapest holiday, but I find being in the forest without cars tery liberating, and ever so relaxing

  • Well we had a wonderful time in centre parcs.

Kept the costs down by ordering food from Tesco in Carlisle, and collecting on the way down.

Now back at work, with 100 days til Xmas, and no overpayments made recently.

Feel a little list, but clinging on to the fact I have two council tax free months coming soon; and hoping to use them as a overpayment.

Still just over a year left on my Virgin Money mortgage, hoping rates stay low - and we can get this £95k down to a more manageable amount.

Slightly disheartened - but struggling on

  • October? Where did THAT year go?
Quick update as I couldn't sleep
Mortgage at £95,300 with payment coming off tomorrow taking it under the £95k mark - yippee
Plan was to wave goodbye to the 90's by the end of the year, however the washing machine blew up on tuesday, and I think it is a tiny step too far to wipe £5k off in three months, especially with Christmas coming up (The C Word, there I said it!)

 Again????? Wasn't there one of those last year as well??????? Grrrr .

Congrats on getting below 95k :T.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • UPDATE:
Just checked, as Virgin will only allow checks between 7am-8pm - do they not realise people have work and children!!
    I am now at £94,800 - whoopie
Cannot realistically think I can find £4,800 in two months, I had hoped for a £2k OP before the washing machine curled up and died.
Realistically, best I can aim for is £92k, 92 steps to freedom, 9 1/2 years to achieve them in!

  • Hi all
Been a while since my last post.
Been doing loads of overtime before Christmas.
Hoping to do one more OP of £1500 prior to the end of the year, but savings need to be a priority.
Switched energy providers - e.*n were awful, kept messing us about - now earning nectar points with my new provider.
Little FLC is now at the stage where she can escape her cot - where has the time gone.

  • Hi All
Seems a lack of posts recently, nothing personal - life is hectic.
Well, not sure what to do really.
As of today Mrs FLC is approx 6 weeks pregnant, obviously a long way to go to reach the 12 week scan etc, but cannot see a way of achieving the overpayment plan with a second mouth to feed - to be honest I am not sure how we are going to life with an extra mouth to feed - and am constantly looking at the outgoings to see what we can cut back on. So far, I have found NOTHING!
Exciting times for us, the 12 week scan, should everything continue to go ok, will be just after Christmas.
