Gumtree failure, where to next?

  • Decent pictures and a sensible price, And if the cars in good condition with a decent service history it will sell easily.

Had no issues with ebay myself.

Thanks, it seems everyone is giving the nod towards eBay. Will give it a shot tomorrow
  • Update: I have just received a phone call (finally) and have a viewing booked for tomorrow! Hopefully takes it :)
  • eBay then it is just a case of the winning bidder turning up, paying and driving off if as described. Too many dreamers on Gumtree even the ones that do turn up for a viewing still make silly offers.

I think it's pot luck really. I had a Fazer 600 twice on eBay last August with no joy. Then I stuck it on Gumtree and waited. Three weeks later a bloke rang up and eventually bought it. But I've sold vehicles on eBay without issue beforehand.

I think in the future I'll go down the Gumtree route first, simply because it's free.

And I always add "no dealer enquiries, no websites with hundreds of buyers fighting over my car/bike and no scammers - cash on personal collection only."

Only downside i can see is its a 2 door.

Are those alloys standard fitment? Maybe an issue for a younger driver.

    Anything else non standard?

    Gumtree is the new Loot.

Not worth it in my opinion.

I have tried to sell several cars on eBay and got nothing but dreamers, idiots and low ball bidders

The only reliable place to sell cars is Autotrader. Never failed me yet.

After looking at the advert link above i will add that the price is right at the top end for that car and mileage.

You could get a similar or lower mileage diesel 5 dr with aircon for around that money.

The wifes 56plate Clio dci is up for replacement this year. Has a 2012 Dynamique half leather interior, 15" alloys, aircon and fsh.

It will be getting put in Autotrader for just under £3k.

And it has had the cambelt and water pump done aswell.
Good luck with the sale though
  • Update: Thank you all for your contributions. I have successfully sold the car knocking £20 off to help them on their way :) Buyer said he found the ad on Gumtree. Guess I got lucky after a week?

Good news and good to hear, it's not a place I favour , but it has worked for you on this occasion and that is what matters
