woo hoo :j :j :j
Another NSD
Si updated to £223 spendsand 8 NSDs :j :j Won't make 15, but might well make 10 which ain't too bad
Get to redo budget next month too (And I'm kind of keeping fingers crossed for a little pay rise - usually get an increment each year at the end of June... might only be cost of living rise (not sure how it works?) but might also go up salary scale? Did that for a couple of years, not sure how it knows!
Anyway, might be a few quidso that'll be nice
Paid cheque from closing Mr Cheery's account into the joint account today so that's most of the savings in one place and looking nicely healthy :j :j0 -
Ooh, and forgot to say I was ever so pleased with myself this morning
Somehow the milk went off  NOT pleased at all about that  wasteful of both milk and money (and fuel etc) but also NO TEA with breakfast
Then I had to go into town and get a train, but I remembered that I hadn't used my monthly free tea and cake John Lewis voucher
Didn't have time to sit in the cafe so took my travel mug with meMade a nice cuppa with the pot, poured it into travel mug, wrapped my cheese scone in a serviette and ate it all on the train :j :j
And I know - I passed up the opportunity to have a bit of cake and had a CHEESE SCONE instead! Quite shocking - much as I love a cheese scone they are NOT normally a cake substitute
but in my defence I'd not long had breakfast, it was only 10 in the morning, and I'm still feeling a bit queasy from the other day and didn't really fancy any of the other cakes they hadMost unlike me! Would have gone with flapjack but it's always been disappointing in there before, and just wasn't in the mood for blueberry muffins or sticky date and something-or-other cake, and I don't do croissants unless they've got a pile of almond paste in the middle
Glad I remembered voucher0 -
WHOOP :j
You're doing really well Cheery - and the free tea and scone courtesy of mrJohn was a brill use of your resources. Just imagine how good the cake is going to taste next time you are able to partake and you are firing on all 4 cylinders
I'm relieved to have crawled into double figures for NSD's this month today. I must do better in July:D
GreyingPounds for Panes £7,705/£10,000 - start date Dec 2023
Grocery Spend September 2025 £35.01/£200
Non-food spend September 2025 ££6.51/£50
Bulk Fund September (month 9 of 12) £/£400 -
Well done to both of you on NSD's.
Yay to free [STRIKE]cake[/STRIKE] scone and tea. Good idea with taking the travel mug with you and having it "to go" excellent use of resources there.
Good luck with the pay rise cheery hope it's a decent one (ie pounds rather than pennies)Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Thanks Starnac
Will find out Monday :j
:hello: oops, sorry em-im, missed you there! (or rather I read your post on the train and it wouldn't let me reply and I forgot about it later:rotfl: ) Cruise ship from New York sounds very Bertie Wooster-ish
Camping sounds fun too though
Enjoy yourselves!
Just been tidying up various bank accounts and spreadsheets. All better now! Going to do as I did last month and take the month's cash out for envelopes earlier than I get paid  but otherwise it'll be nearly a week before I can get to the bank and it'll have all gone to pot by then! I promise I won't touch it til Tuesday...0 -
oh i am SUCH a plonker!!
checked bank today, mr cheery's savings cheque went in bank yesterday but hasn't cashed, so this morning just tidied up spreadsheets etc, transferred £250 back to savings that i swiped from savings account last week, worked out how much cash i'd need for next month and went to the bank to take out £300 in cash.
Spotted the mistake yet??:rotfl:
took poor bank bloke a while to figure out that despite the fact i KNEW the cheque hadn't cashed (which is why i hadn't transferred the whole lot to the savings account) but that i'd transferred £250 of it was was trying to take out another £300:rotfl:
idiot :rotfl:
and now i'm late for the next thing i'm meant to be at. daft woman!! :rotfl:0 -
All sorted now, re-pinched £250 from the savings account just in case there's anything going out I don't know about (I don't think there is but Mr Cheery is bidding on something on ebay so it's best to have something in there!)
Just been to dentist to have crown fitted. They needed to do a fillin too, so did that at the same time which is good because I don't have to go back, but BAD because now I can't feel any of the lower half of my face
Receptionist wasn't there when I left though so I'll have to ring on Monday to pay - good job really since it's £219 and that would have !!!!!!ed up my bank account system even more! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Other than that, just spent £1.70 on the bus, 80p on a chocolate barand £5.50 on present for my nephew today.

£5 on food yestedday although tehnically that should come from food budget so i might swipe it back then claim NSD
may well be NSD today too! :j :j don't need to be anywhere other than gig this evening (for which i have a free ticket)
day of house tidying and loafing beckons i think. yawn...0 -
Well it seems I am having a day of MSE cooking
:j :j :j
Not used the slow cooked for AGES but did some dried beans in it last night so they're now in the freezer :j
Also bought bag of reduced banananas yesterday, quite squishy but cut into slices and froze last night and bagged up for freezer today :j (incidentally, my baking tray had a load of ancient baked on flapjacky stuff on - but in the freezer it all came loose and just rinsed off! :j New cleaning method for the idle:rotfl: )
Reduced parsnips looking past their best so they're now in the slow cooker with a load of 'soup mix' stuff - probably take about 4 weeks to cook but hey ho rofl
Also had two heads of brocolli (reduced) almost completely yellow so they're in a giant pan boiling with the last of the spuds to ake brocolli mash
which will go on top of a kind of shepherds pie thing I'm concocting out of brown lentils and reduced aubergines
Can you tell I'm cleaning the fridge out??There's a funny smell by the back door and it's driving me insane - I've cleaned everything I can think of, nothing individually smells of it, but I've got to the point of getting all the crap from under the fridge ( lots of dust, but nothing that smelt) so now resorting to using up EVERYTING in fridge just in case! Gah!

Working tomorrow, out and about so taxis etc on expenses but got lunch all sorted to take with meJust need to resist chocolate bars at the train station and we're all set for the 10th NSD :j :j
First FREE night at slimming world tomorrow tooAssuming I haven't put 4lbs ON this week that is  although I think even if I have you get a week's grace to get back in your target area again so I definitely shouldn't have to pay this week :rotfl:
