My head hurts! How on earth do you THINK of stuff like that so early in the morning?! :o

Interesting to see that to all intents and purposes you put the same amount into your car savings as we do in ours - we've got the two cars of course but put across £155 a month - and yes, short of anything disastrous that does usually cover things. Always good that someone else's figures reassure you that your own must be about right! :D

And yes, looking at all the things you're not counting, I should think you should be able to definitely make 12 NSD's! :p :rotfl:

I *don't* think of stuff like that early in the morning - it was last night :D :rotfl:

Not sure how things will work out with the car - I'm still pretty much using the same figures from the last one.

Just had renewal for RAC cover at £66 (not even going to look round - this includes home start and recovery etc and I'm happy with it)

Tax is £125 (was £220 for old car)

Took out new insurance in Feb when bought new car - £250 ish I think...

    Usually allow £300 for MOT

So altogether that's £741, so £62 a month. I transfer £80, which will allow an extra £240 a year for repairs - usually needed given our penchant for buying battered ancient crappy cars :rotfl:

But yes, it's good to see that someone as organised as you has a similar plan :D

Good thought to stick £110 in my sig starnac, will think on :)

How old is your new car cheery? If it's under 3years old it won't need an MOT yet x

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: under 3 years old indeed :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It's twelve :D :rotfl: :rotfl: We've had it since Feb and it's already been to the garage 3 times and had all its tyres replaced (amongst other things) :rotfl: It's definitely going to need an MOT :D :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

(sorry, don't mean to laugh, just giggling at the thought of me having anything like a 'NEW new' car :rotfl: :rotfl: )

    Nah....sorry, I can't help myself either.... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    :D

As for first thing in the morning actually being last night - well of course it was! :o

We overestimate on what's needed on the car stuff to allow for contingencies too - it means in theory at least when things like tyres are needed the money should be there. I believe they cal it "general depreciation" in the trade! :D

As for "someone as organised as me" - Pfft... *gives Cheery a friendly shove* - get away - told you before, I just put up a good facade! :p:rotfl:

I actually feel a bit less  now I know how old the car is. I couldn't believe how much work it needed done when you first got it. Now I understand

The amount of work is testament to my shoddy car-buying skills :D :rotfl: :rotfl: :D

just ran into town to get all my change out of the bank :D pockets of my running jacket drooping and jangling :rotfl:

spent £2 on cereal bars and 99p on a tin of kippers :rotfl: as a treat for mr cheery :rotfl:

also bought 2 pairs of leggings (planned) for £8.

best get back to work i suppose!

ended up getting a free trip home on the bus :j

    and today i'm declaring May's first NSD! :j :j :j :j

not spent anything other than work train fare and one bus trip. Took foldy bike, cycled two bits, walked one and was even planning to cycle home from station (for once!) but i'd managed to get a puncture - seemingly in the office!! very vexing - tis a pest to fix on that bike too.

so just£1.70 on bus home but that comes from work travel pot so a NSD it is :j :j

not sure what the plan is tomorrow...
