YNAB done here too
- had to fiddle the categories to come up with some extra for OH to see the chiropractor twice this month! His spine needs some extra TLC. Love how easy that app makes it to have/find a reserve for the unexpected! Just means we'll be adjusting monthly goals for the once a year spends, but not by a lot!
4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!0 -
Omdeed
Is it so very wrong that I'm looking forward to moving so I can rejig the budget and change the categories round a bit?
:rotfl:
So much for letting the house insurance renew - must have changed my bank card since I paid last and the damn thing hasn't gone. Their office is now shut and I can't pay online apparently. Got to ring them in the morning...
Tried to go out for lunch today but the cafe was full  Saved us from ourselves - we ended up going round to a friend's house instead :rotfl:0 -
Right, I am sat here PUTTING OFF a few tiny things that I NEED to do
So, a miniature list
* ring house insurance people to pay renewal fee (and ask about moving house policy too)
* ring building society to check when and what first mortgage payment is
Ok, just two thingsOne shuts at 7 but I can't remember which :rotfl:

Hope the mini-list went well and glad you're feeling better.
Excellent mini budget shuffling.elder hound tips an ear in your direction, waves to Mr Cheery too - well if his head was off the bed for long enough, I'm sure he would.
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
Morning Pippi :hello: waving to elder hound - in fact I have the replica of him that I made in bed with me at this very minute
:rotfl:
I did indeed get both of those things done :j
House insurance paid - will only cover both houses before we move if it's less than 2 weeks between exchange and completion so that's worth knowing. £50 cancellation fee if we want to ditch and get someone else.
Mortgage charges 14 days interest from day before completion, then first full payment on 1st of the next month, so it's worth us holding out til Feb (although at this stage we're not actually going to need to do any 'holding out' as the other people aren't ready anyway :rotfl:
Also contacted someone about removals and need to text the friend of a friend who said he could do it - absolutely NOT convinced our stuff will fit in his van but would like him to tell us that rather than just guessing - don't want to find out on moving day!
Planned to go swimming before work this morning but been super idle and am still in bed listening to the rain and the pool closes in 9 minutes... oops... exercise video at home tonight I think, and swimming tomorrow!
Nowt MSE to report. Mr Cheery made tea last night and packed enough for me to take for dinner today :j already got fruit and yogurt at work so no need for anything else. Meeting a friend for a cuppa after work though.
Have a cheery one0 -
Have you swum then?!
Well done for ticking off mini-lists!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
Balance as at 01/09/23 = £115,000.00 Balance as at 31/12/23 = £112,000.00
Balance as at 31/08/24 = £105,400.00 Balance as at 31/12/24 = £102,500.00
£100k barrier broken 1/4/25SOA CALCULATOR (for DFW newbies): SOA Calculatorshe/her0 -
Er, no
Just did not get out of bed early enough
But I did get up this morning and go to the gym :j Which saved me £4 on the swimming pool at least :money: :rotfl:
Won't be going before work for the next couple of days as I have a definite start of 9am and despite my best intentions, it is just NOT realistic
Someone bought me lunch yesterday so I've got yesterday's lunch for today :j and I met a friend for dinner in a restaurant - I tried to pay for mine but she would only take £10 so that saved a bit there too
Really not been keeping on top of UFM properly thoughI suppose there's still time
Might read the emails tonight

Evening MSE chums :hello:
Just been doing a bit of YNAB/banks jiggery pokery after payday :j
All looking acceptable (we're not talking about 'uber frugal' January...:rotfl: )
No movement on the house front, but I have decided to act as if we might be moving at some point this year, and have started asking for quotes from removals firms
One came round this morning - he's going to email me a quote this week
One friend of a friend/man with van quoted in the summer but hasn't seen the house and I am NOT convinced even the contents of downstairs is going to fit  Have texted again to get him to come round
Also emailed another local well recommended firm this evening, and put in a request on the British Association of Removalers (or whatever they're called :rotfl: ) website so I imagine I'll be inundated with phone calls tomorrow
Instead of sticking the normal amount in the savings account this month, I've upped the amount I'd allocated for removals as I suspect it'll be more expensive than first anticipated
Today's bloke recommended packing up the night before and storing in their secure yard (under their insurance of course) - seemed to think we had quite a lot of boxes and it would be an awful lot of trips back and forth to the van :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
How did the moving quotes go Cheery?!?4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! One quote for £1050 so far  and another bloke came round today, and 2 others booked in next week so I'll wait and see if we get anything more reasonable than that...
No news on the house moving front yet anyway, popped into the estate agents and they said 'nearly there, you should be moving within the next month anyway!'
Yeah right :rotfl: that will take us to near enough March - which will be a whole 8 months since we accepted the offer on this place  :rotfl: and thats if it doesn't all fall apart again in the meantime!!
Hey ho. Sister is coming to visit next weekend so we can do a trail race (!) so I'm going to take her to walk the footpath past the house :j nobody we know has seen it yet so her reaction will be interesting :rotfl:0
