    :D I can't believe I didn't think of it! Of course, there were loads of teabags there, but I felt cheeky stealing one for the way home :o

    Anyway, I have a confession to make, and it really is quite bizarre. I have just spent the last 3 hours lying in bed, er, reading through the whole of my own previous MSE diary...

    :o:o:o:o:o:o

    Quite cheery actually :D I was working full time back then, and it was in the year before my thyroid op, so lots of ups and downs of energy levels while they sorted everything out, but mostly boinging around.

    Some things have changed - massive garden project that took me months is now finished :j :j and I'm not working full time any more so not throwing as much at the savings accounts as I was. Money is all joint now :j

    But lots of things are still the same - still have an endless round of stupid phone calls to make about silly admin-related things (why??), still not finished changing Mr Cheery's name on everything, still overspending on tea and cake :o :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Quite nice to see how life flows on :) Quite enjoyed myself :)

    However, now there are a million things to do! I got up and put my running kit on straight away as I NEED to go for a run - but while breakfast digests I'm going to paint the gloss on the back door :j Hope the sunshine holds, it's glorious today! :j :j

    So today looks something like

    paint
    run
    tidy and clean disgustingly filthy house (this is another thing I was moaning about 2 years ago and still haven't got the hang o :o )
    possibly small trip into town (need to count change and get holiday money out of the bank!)
    Book holidays! :j :j (for Monday :o )
    Sort stuff for half marathon trip

    Gah, so much to do, why did I lie in bed all morning?! :o :rotfl: :rotfl:

    :j :j :j :j

    Have painted back door red :D and booked holiday cottage :j :j :j :j

    Rather expensive (well, one of the cheaper ones but still counts as expensive to me! :eek: ) but VERY exciting :j

    Here we go, confession time... Today has most definitely NOT been a NSD... :o Please bear with me while I recount all my many sins... :p

    TOILETRIES
    £7.49 razor blades
    £1.49 moisturiser
    £3 nail varnish (I had a half price voucher :o but then when I paid they gave me another one :rotfl: )
    ( was going to add in some other things here but remembered I paid for them with the last of a gift voucher so I won't :D:p )
    TOTAL = £11.98

    CLOTHES
    £20 knickers/socks/tights
    £3 sunglasses and hair bobbles
    TOTAL = £23

    OTHER
    £16 boots reheeled
    £40 new epilator
    £2 notebook and pens for holidays
    £8 nephew's present
    £2 sesame seeds and yogurt coated brazils
    TOTAL = £68

    GRAND TOTAL = £103 :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    Wish I hadn't added up now :o :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    On the plus side I emptied out our change pot, my £2 coin pot, and our Virtual Sealed Pot (where we sweep odd pence over from the bank account) and have a grand total of £252 'free' holiday spending money :j:j:jVery excited about this - we only decided we were going about 4 weeks ago so not really had time to save up!

    Going to delete the 'fun budget' spends figure out of my signature so it doesn't glare at me :o:p

    How is it so easy to spend that much money in one go?! :eek:

    Anyway...

    Filled up the car ready for holidays (£43) - remembered in the nick of time that I'd reset the mileage thing when we first topped it up

    Done 342 miles in that time (mostly shortish local trips, apart from one visit to my mum's - 150 miles, half motorway, half windy country road)

    Put in £43 worth of diesel - 32.34 litres apparently

    Which by my calculations means it's done approx 48mpg - not too bad considering new it said 53mpg (and at any rate it's far better than the last one!). I'll fill it up again when we get back from hols and see what it's done then.

    Yawn yawn yawn. I am SO exhausted by my shopping trip I have NO desire to hang up the soggy washing or pack for tomorrow's half marathon trip! Or make myself any tasty tea :o

    Perhaps another cup of tea will get me upright again :rotfl: :rotfl:

    When is the half marathon cheery?? Good luck

    Also, not wanting to sound like your mum or anything but did you just buy razor blades AND an epilator? :rotfl:

    48mpg sounds good to me especially as it's better than the last one and mostly round town. Mpg is always lower on short trips.

    :j to free holiday spends. That is always good :)

    Enjoy your weekend (if you can ;) )
    Goals for February

    I did indeed just buy razor blades and an epilator :o Much as I love the epilator, I haven't er, how to put this delicately? Er, I haven't quite committed to using it for all areas just yet :o:D

    and it's even more stupid than that - I bought razor blades for the WRONG razor and didn't realise til I'd already opened the damn things! :eek: Fortunately I had an old handle lying around, a bit broken but managed to fit a new one to it. Whether it will ever come off again is anyone's guess. Silly girl!

    :rotfl:

    Having a nice slow evening pottering around, although currently VERY vexed because I can't find my running tights anywhere!! I wore them last Sunday, and I want to take them tomorrow - I've found everything else I was wearing last Sunday with them, but they are nowhere to be seen, gah!

    Oh dear :rotfl: bye bye, little NSD prospect! But, you know, there's no caviar in there, is there? No high-lead content crystal, no champagne - just stuff you need for the holiday.

    And as for the "all areas" thing :eek: Ow. Just, ow. Nuff said :eek: :rotfl:

    Is you half marathon tomorrow, Cheery? Best of luck! And then straight into a holibob? Lovely :beer:

    No caviar indeed KC, and in fact most of it isn't even related to holidays, i just don't get into town very often so i stack up a list :rotfl:

    I'm just off to my mum's tomorrow, half marathon is in Liverpool at 9am on Sunday, no way i'd get there for that time without staying over!

    Then back here sunday afternoon, then holidays on monday ;j

    Silly really - Mr Cheery can't come to race with me as he has a gig Saturday night, but he could theoretically join me at mum's on sunday as it's on the way to the holiday cottage, but i just cannot get my head into gear to pack for everyrhing at once :o so i'm coming back to sort holiday stuff after race.

    Daft reallly, but sometimes mental wellbeing is worth the price of an extra train ticket...
