saved 16 pounds this week by swapping Starbucks with mellow birds and they taste the same, I would really recommend it. Worth the pricey 2.19 a jar

Seriously? What type of Starbucks are you swapping for Mellow Birds? You can't be after a caffeine hit that's for sure!

(Don't get me wrong I like the taste of MB but more in the line of Horlicks and hot choc, as a drink to really relax with,)

Oh trust me, I wouldn't touch Starbucks with a bargepole either :D

Costa or Caffè Nero all the way for me. For instant coffee it has to be Carte Noir ;)

Now while I'm no fan of Starbucks, you really need to have a taste at some decent (instant) coffees that are around for not outrageous money. Try Nescafe Gold Crema. Mellow Birds I'm pretty sure doesn't even taste of coffee.

Spot on, it doesn't even taste like a really milky latte!

Carte Noir or Douwe Egberts for instant, or play around with various beans. Alternatively get a coffee pod machine such as a Dolce Gusto. Might not be precisely mse but if you're spending £16 a week / £832 a years then the coffee pod machines will deliver barista style coffees without such horrendous cost.

(Now going to power up the Dolce Gusto, all this talk of coffee has got me hankering after one!)

I have a Tassimo which does Costa coffee pods, very :money: :D

Out and about I like Costa and Nero.

At home I have a Nespresso machine, and it makes a very nice coffee; certainly nicer than Starbucks.

Excluding the cost of the machine, I think it's about 35p a cup.

I have had Starbucks once and a large plain black coffee tasted soo bitter. Ditto from Costa and it was full of toddlers shrieking. Yesterday I was in Patisserie Valerie and the list of coffees was so long, I gave up and had a pot of organic Earl Grey tea instead. Two pots of tea was 5.50

Neither OH or I smoke or drink so I buy organic coffee, a Swedish brand of South American Arabica and have a cafetiere on a weekend morning.

If OP likes Mellow Birds and saves money I can't see anything wrong in that. No one I know will have Starbucks coffee.
