I have just bought my first smartphone ( The Motorola Moto G 16 , still £129 in Tesco yesterday ).
I have read on here about unlocking and getting a code from E Bay, as I want to use it on O2, but I don't want to make a mistake or mess it up.
So what I need to know in words of one syllable please what order I do things in. I am wary about doing anything with the phone in case I mess something up.

If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

There is a hotukdeal on this where a chap apparently sends you the unlocking code for £1.99.
You can go to the below link and read all the comments from people who have bought the code and done it. Apparently Tesco will charge you a tenner to do it and claim it will not invalidate your warranty but plenty seem happy using codes from the below chap.

I used ebayer smgreen1969 for unlocking and was very pleased with the service provided.
He has also had glowing reports on HotUKDeals.

He sends full instructions on the process involved, which is very straightforward.0 -

Unless the situation has changed, you will need to unlock a Tesco mobile phone to work on O2 (or Giffgaff) despite the fact they all use the O2 network.
An O2 locked phone can be used on Tesco Mobile and Giffgaff without any problems but not the other way around as Tesco lock theirs to Tesco Mobile.0 -
There's a wee scare alert for an Ebay unlocked Moto G dying just this morning.
Might be related to the unlock, might not. Keep an eye on this thread.
