My guess is that you are elderly when you start to act that way. You dress old. Your health begins to go and you let it affect your outlook on life. Your mind closes to new ideas. So, "Old is as old does" as an elderly Forrest Gump would say.
By that definition some people are elderly at 40 and some never are, even at 101.0 -
70 years old is elderly to me. Its my mams age.!0

You can officially die from 'old age' at 70.
Any younger, then there has to be another 'cause' of death but at 70 we can die from just plain old age!0 -
If you die before 75 it's considered premature so I'd say 75 is old.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

70 seems young when you think that the government will now have us all working until 67. 3 years from being fit to work to dying of 'old age'. It's a rather sobering thought!0

At 64 I am middle aged in my mind, but the state calls me a pensioner. I think I will become elderly when I am 80, my uncle is 90 so he is elderly.

my back is 'elderly', but my mind and attitude is (I hope) young. I think elderly is an 'attitude' and have known many older people who seem eternally young. and many younger people who seem determined to come across as elderly old curmudgeons!0

For some reason, it's when you "have a fall" instead of "falling over"0

I speak to some people in their 50's at work and they sound at deaths door......I speak to some people in their 80's and they sound bright, vibrant and sharp...........you're elderly when your unhealthy lifestyle catches up with you......We’ve had to remove your signature.
