Can someone tell me - do the 10 items at Ts have to be different? Someone mentioned that they buy burgers in 5s as less fillers? Also do they need to be comparable like sada or simply 10 items? Thanks
  • One of my favourite sayings (not from Urban Dictionary, it's Irish I think), for someone who is not particularly welcome at a social gathering:
"If he/she was thrown after you, you wouldn’t turn round to see what the clatter was."

Never heard this one JB but I love it. Gonna try and remember it in case it have a need to say it lol

Try this one as well, cjj, another of Irish origin, for a miserable person:
"With a face like that, you wouldn't wash the corpse."

And Yorkshire folk, being so miserable by nature:wink:, have lots of similar sayings, mainly to describe each other:

“She teks more pleasure at them she sees in t’ churchyard than at them what she hears in t’ church.”

"As mawngy as an owd cat."

“Ah, she is always talkin’ uphill.”

“Ee, she’s as miserable as sin! Nivver speaks to anybody, and when she does she says nowt.”
'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'

very sorry lurking as always - never enough hours in the day!

thought i would share this very funny, just had a 1p thomas the tank fleece taken off me SA said it was faulty i had fun asking her why and listening to her rambling :rotfl:

will just try another t's now i know :T
That happened to me a while back with a 4p pack of socks. SA said that they were 'dangerous' and had been recalled. So I asked her to show me the recall notice which must be publicly displayed for 'dangerous' items. She of course couldn't. Waffle mode set in and I said I'll tell you what, I won't report your store for breaking the law if you let me buy the socks...and she did!!
  • Ooooh I'm so jealous of all these m7s meals... I must be the only one to not have taken part:(:rotfl:

    I didn't partake either in the great m& s glitch either😞

Here are the 1p items I got that I don't think have been mentioned

I am my worst enemy, got those candles last week when they were 10p. :o

And the shiny balls for 75p couple weeks back, only got the one pack of those but they were long gone before it all went to 1p.

I have been skipping but noticed you hit lucky with the Quality Street. :T

After my store having loads of them there was only 2 left when they finally got to the magic price. I can't believe all those 16p bars disappeared without a trace.

I was robbed! I paid 38p for those caramel balls the other week. Have you tried them by the way? The pink ones are vile, certainly not worth 38p!

Thank you to everyone whose advice has helped me in my desperate quest to make ends meet. x

EDIT-Back on the quest, I've been away too long!

    Sorry that was me.
Don't want to confuse anyone, what I meant is I still need 10 DIFFERENT items but if I only buy 3 burgers at a time I would have to repeat to get more burgers and therefor buy 20 different items. Hth

Simply 10 items not like sada. Hth
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

Yes they have to be 10 different items. No, they don't have to be comparable....but they do have to be qualifying items. That is grocery items, so no clothes or household stuff etc. and be careful of buying single sweets as some don't compare because they're classed as kiosk items.
If up you're unsure it's best to stick to loose fruit and veg or things you have seen on others' lists that are ok.
