Lounge/stairs/landing need decorating this year with new flooring. I am also determined to manage a holiday in Italy this year as OH mobility is getting worse so holidays may fizzle out soon. To pay for all this I need to be frugal with the day to day spending. My mantra is 'You can only spend it once'.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0

I could/should invest in some weatherproof boots for this sort of climate, plus some decent sandals that don't encourage blisters
I have to have wide fitting & no pointy bits so my toes have got wriggle room, not too much heel (I can twist an ankle on fresh air) & a price I can afford.. no biggie then :rotfl: but I'll probably still be looking this time next year!
Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

its not what we all want to buy i just start a nice thread, something we want to save money for/incentives and showing deals around. everyone will have a different idea in what they want to buy this year
No I am not starting from scratch, a lot needs replacing and a lot of the electric equipment I havnt got
You misquoted what I said. You're right it's not what we all want to buy, it's what we all have to buy, more or less.
I was simply pointing out the fact that, meaning we all in a similar position and I guess that's why we are here.
Sorry if I offended, it wasn't intended, and as I said, good luck.;);)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
For me, I want to STOP myself buying kitchen stuff I don`t really need! (I mentioned carboots earlier - I have one large slowcooker bought new, plus 3 others from carboots - different sizes & depths, I do use them all sometimes, but I only have a small kitchen!)
Savings pot - that`s got to be for whatever conks out first!0 -
There is not much on my list, as I managed to achieve so much last year in the house!
However if there is one thing I want it is this...
Next Cambridge Oak Coffee Table

Or this Corner TV Unit
http://www.next.co.uk/x533012s1#879302x53
I want the coffee table to put the TV on... It's expensive but the quality is fantastic. I already have the Bookcase with Drawers... although they no longer sell that! I inherited it shall we say 5 years back and I would love the coffee table, and perhaps small side table to match!
We shall see...0 -
We're planning on selling our house this year and as it was purchased almost three years ago as a major project, most of what we need to buy involves building materials etc to finish off the work (most of which we are DIYing), so for example my list includes -
Seven timber DG windows for the front elevation
60 sq m solid oak flooring
Carpets for two floors (4 rooms plus landing/stairs)
Cladding for an ugly 1980s extension
Gravel for driveway
Four more cast iron rads
Tons of paint & timber etc etc
Fortunately we've done most of the expensive stuff - except the windows - and don't need anything furniture/furnishings-wise, although a new goose down duvet and high thread-count bed linen would be a nice treat after all our hard work:D
Mortgage-free for fourteen years!
Over £40,000 mis-sold PPI reclaimed0
