    Hi,

Hubby and I love Bacon and Butterbean soup.

Fry off chopped bacon (whatever is lying in the fridge), add chopped onion and pepper. Soften the onions and pepper. Add tin of butterbeans, tin of tomatoes (love using the tinned tomatoes with chillies), and a pint of chicken or veg stock. Simmer for 20 mins. Yum:j
This receipe is very flexible add whatever veg is lying around to bulk it out - just add a bit extra stock.

Google for gigandes / gigantes. The wonderful Greek dish, done in a tomato sauce.
I bought a bag of dried beans a while ago to make this dish, and wondered if they'd grow, just like the broad bean seeds I was planting at the time. Answer: Yes! I'll let you know what - if any - crop I get!
