  • Current credit card DFD according to whatsthecost.com is June 2017 with all credit card at 0%. Hoping to pay it off sooner, because if I don't it will take longer as some go into standard apr later this year if I'm not able to balance transfer again.

Go for it, I'd recommend the spreadsheets for good motivation on how its all going, I've set mine up so it recalcuates my DFD at each payment.

  • From a mountain of a joint 158k unsecured debt. My debt free date is Feb 2016

I will no doubt get totally hammered when that day comes.. It will definately bring a tear to my eye as most of my working life i've been drowning in debt.
  • Hi
I'm not sure as I haven't worked it out. My sole remaining debt is £8500 on 0% BT and I'm planning to pay off £250 per month.

Is that Dec 2017? Don't know.

I'm saving at the moment instead and my key date is when my savings = my debt.

In 2009, there was roughly 95k unsecured debt between the two of us, accumulated through a combination of life events, the recession, economic changes and a bit of our own stupidity.

Debt free date will.be August this year. Then we'll start chucking extra at the mortgage. At last there is light at the end of the tunnel.

  • My DFD was yesterday! Yippie :j

3 years ago, aged 28, I accumulated around £7100 worth of debt using a credit card and 2 overdrafts. As a student at the time, I was only able to make the minimum payments, and on a few occasions I wasn't even able to make those  Luckily, I got a really good job last November, which means I now have an extra £2000 after all bills. After repaying my debts, I immediately cancelled one overdraft facility and reduced both limits on the credit card and the other overdraft, so that my available credit now stands at £3250. I have no intentions of ever buying anything on credit that I can't afford to pay with cash. My focus now is to raise a substantial emergency fund and save for a big deposit.

    Best wishes to all!
    DFD: 27th Feb 2015 (£7100) :j
