What's the situation with this site? Is it not worth joining now?New to this money saving lark. Any tips greatly received.

Definitely not worth joining, as far as I can tell reviews are limited to 500 words and I don't think there's enough active people on it reading reviews for people to earn points properly any more (although the balance is that you might find it easier to be spotted for a Crown and the bonus points that gives).
I logged on a few weeks ago to find that someone had some how managed to post an article under my username, and then left a comment on that same article saying that they had no idea how they'd done it as they'd used THEIR username and password. I complained on the DooYoou Facebook page, pointing out that it was a potential Data Protection breach, and got told to email them. When I did the response was simply to change my password, even though I hadn't given out my password in the first place, it's a bloody difficult one to guess, and the person that posted the review was as baffled as I was!
I also asked for the review to be removed from my account as it's not my work and so far it's still on there. None of the questions asked on the Facebook page, such as "why was the UK site the only one that was changed?" have been answered, DooYoo have done their best to carefully ignore questions they don't want to answer and their response to all the others is just "email us", half the time people then come back to complain that no one replied to their email.
I've completely given up, if I ever log back in again it'll only be if DooYoo is sold to another company that fix everything that's broken, I certainly wouldn't trust the cowboys that run it now.0 -

Once upon a time Dooyoo was fantastic. But then they made loads of rubbish changes to the site. I was almost had enough for a £20 payout, yet was unable to post any more reviews. For some reason an error message kept popping up. I tried to get in touch with them, sent emails etc but never received a reply. The points soon expired and I still couldn't post any reviews. Absolute rubbish. Definitely one to avoid I think0

Just found this thread and realised it's not just me having problems with dooyoo! I ordered an amazon voucher but no acknowledgement and some of my miles have now expired. I tried to redeem my remaining miles for charity but can't even click on the option to redeem, the link just does nothing. Does anyone else have this problem, or a way around it?
When people talk about emailing them do you mean contacting through the site or is there another address? I have tried through the site but no reply and I can't find a messages inbox on the new version of the site?
Does anyone know of a phone number for them?
Not sure how much time to spend on trying to get my money, it feels like throwing good time after bad!0 -
I too have been told I can't claim my £20 amazon voucher redemption due to my account being credited with miles I didn't earn. They state they can not process the voucher until 'the bug is fixed' but I don't see how they CAN fix it!
The site is still active though. I entered one of their competitions a few weeks back and won a £10 voucher and they paid it to me within a day of winning. But I think I might be waiting forever for the redemption.0 -
Has anyone had this problem with 'extra miles' been added to their account fixed?
I too have had this problem when I tried to cash out in July.
Dear xxxxxxxxxxx,
Thank you for your e-mail. Unfortunately, it seems that due to a technical error caused by us, your account was wrongly awarded an extra amount of miles. Therefore we are unable to process your miles redemption request until the bug is fixed. Please accept our sincerest apologies for this inconvenience.
Kind regards,
Your dooyooTeam0 -
There still seem to be people asking about this on their FB page, so I'm assuming nothing has been sorted. I think it's in incredibly poor spirits for them to be trying to claw back what can only amount to a few pence here and there - especially as those who were posting at that time were navigating a barely usable site and trying to keep things going - I know I sat for an hour at a time, making multiple attempts at getting reviews to stick. They should be giving out extra vouchers!
I have just reached the £20 threshold again, having been tempted to give it another go. If I don't get paid then that will obviously be an end to it for me.
It is a very strange site now. The oddest categories are on Level 1 (eg recipes, which I can't see having any commercial advantage for the site) and I found it relatively easy to get to £20 because some of the Level 1 categories suit me. But it seems to be dominated by new posters who post £20 worth of reviews in a day and don't read or rate anything. It also appears that they're only giving out one crown a week, and not replying to anything on FB or Twitter. Who knows what the game plan is, or if there is one?0 -
I know for a fact that the error doesn't amount to just a few pence here and there. I know personally of at least 2 members that received over £100 more than expected after the changeover and then promptly cashed that out and left!
If this has been replicated hundreds of times then they are in bigger trouble than they already were in terms of their cashflow.
If you look at their Alexa rating you'll see the website appears to be in trouble anyway now.

They've gone down from 50,000 global ranking to 113,000 since the April and with 40% of their visitors now coming from India and the United States it can't be great, for a UK based opinion website. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. £100? Wow, that's a serious mess! It sounds like they're penalising entirely the wrong people then, if they're refusing to pay out on £20 vouchers when they've already paid out that much extra to some members!0
