I tried the Burtons Fish & Chips crisps from asda and although they were nice they are not as I remember.

My nan used to make "milk jelly" which I usually had a few times a month when my tonsilitus was bad. It was basically jelly mixed with evaporated milk but my god it was lovely (now I might have to go and make some now!).

I used to love Burton's Potato Puffs.

I still make milk jellies - lime made up with half water & half coconut milk is lovely - got that from my aunt :D

Not something I actually want for myself (though I might be tempted to feed it to Mr LW if he's in the doghouse :D) but something I haven't seen in years is Kennomeat dog food. My grandmother's Old English Sheepdog, Crackers, used to eat this; the cats, Whiskers and Ming, used to get the feline equivalent, Kattomeat.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Do you remember if you bought a light bulb in Woollies they always tested it first before selling it to you?
I'd forgotten they used to do this!

Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.

Fishmongers with all sorts of dead sea creatures arranged on enormous blocks of ice an trimmed with big bunches of parsley. When I was 6 or so I remember being fascinated by the bright shiny round eyes on the herrings. Granddad lived with us and he bought herrings for his supper - when he was frying them the smell stunk the whole house out !
