I think we may have an O2 employee on here lol!
Really no need to be so rude.
Trust me I don't work for O2 or Orange and vote on the left, but do wonder why so many are so incensed about a small inflationary price rise that has always been documented but not always implemented, as mentioned a weekly shopping trip will often find a more than rpi price rise .0 -

Unfair contract clause? According to Ofcom it could be construed as such.
Just because a contract states something and you sign it, does not mean the contract cannot be challenged at a later date. We have fixed gas and electric prices, fixed monthly rentals for a car or sofa from DFS and fixed deals with mortgages, loans, HP, etc.
Its little to do with inflation, inflation happens daily, monthly and annually but that should be factored in to longterm pricing IMHO.
Even government intervened with the rpi trick in relation to rail fares, so 'its only RPI' isn't a good enough excuse else why hold back rail fares?Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -

Me, I'm with O2 and I'm the kind of person who likes to get litigious so will happily have some fun with this. I'm not actually bothered about the price rise, its about £5 over 12 months, but its the principle I'm more interested in.
I'm in! Where do I sign up? :j
Would you suggest next ringing their helldesk or snail mail?"Retail is for suckers"

I don't recall them saying it's unfair, only the folk here whining about a 50p or so increase as if it's the end of the world, energy prices do go up and as you point out the customers have a choice, the principle here is that most of you whining won't challenge it in court , possibly because you know the charge will be laughed out of court.0 -
The difference is that we have ethe option to leave our shopping and walk away if we like. We're not obliged, contractually or otherwise, to continue to shop with a particular supermarket or buy a particular brand of food/drink etc.
TUC crackers are unique and I will put up with the price increase and cut back elsewhere if need be.
You all have the option to leave and shop elsewhere when it comes to mobiles, but you know you are cutting your nose to spite your face, I wonder how many posters here are posting from a virgin media connection?0 -
It is the principle.
Average increase £1 per month? x 7 million customers = £84000000 a year.
Their costs went up? Which one? Advertising?"Retail is for suckers"

The average increase is well under £1 a month, of course costs go up, staff pay increases, energy charges, ground rates and site rental, license fees, R&D to name a few.0 -
I don't care (well I do actually) whether the increase is 50p or £5 a month. This might be "whinging" in your book but I don't believe it is fair and I will pursue this as far as I can.
Your "whinging" is my standing up for myself.0 -
My contract goes up by 57p and in June I am out of contract.
So wonder what my loyalty will be worth then0
