Will someone please take the wheels off the naughty car!!!!
Chickenitis strikes again. I have 3 new white stars because my OH thought the first one we got would be picked on! Now I have a gang of 4 who are right stroppy madams but they do take themselves off to bed until they think they are missing somethng and come out again. It was like watching a cuckoo clock last night. They had us in stitches.:rotfl:They are very flighty but a delight to watch.0 -

i know people who keep rabbits and chickens together. Ideally, keep a fence between them at first until they get used to each other. As you have a jack russell you might need a very secure run for your chickens.
There are so many coops available it is hard to recommend any, but whatever you choose, if you plan on having 2 chickens, make sure the house is suitable for at least 4 and be prepared to increase the run size considerably as the combined house and run set ups never provide enough run area.0 -
I'm hen sitting for a week and having a whale of a time looking after them! I also got a really large egg but never thought to weigh it, but it was the size of 2 normal eggs and had a double yolk! Great learning curve and although I can't have hens of my own yet, ONE DAY!

I have no idea what breeds they are so is there a site which gives easy identification? I'm just learning about the differences but will have to leave them next week.

2nd new girl has started laying so had a 3 egg day yesterday and a no egg day, besides a softie, today. Seems to be feast or famine.
I have also noticed they are eating the bedding (shredded paper) do you think this will harm them?
Hope everyone is well.
