Oh, roads you'd be absolutely fine on :) Safer in winter too, because they grip better barefoot. You might need some boots to get you through the transition period while he's sorting his feet out, but you can always find them second hand on eBay and then sell them again when he no longer needs them. Go and have a chat to this lot:

    http://phoenixhorse.myfastforum.org/index.php

It used to be a forum specifically for people who'd had their horses rehabbed via Rockley Farm (which is another interesting site, particularly their blog: http://www.rockleyfarm.co.uk/ ) but has now had a name change and expanded to include anyone interested in keeping a horse barefoot. A lot of the Rockley graduates event barefoot and Rockley's own horses all hunt hundreds of miles over Exmoor on some really tough ground without shoes.

I've been reading Rockley a bit recently. Fascinating stuff and definitely food for thought. A huge part of my budget, for sure.

So another low spend day. I made soup at the weekend, cost about £1. That and a 30p pack of rolls has seen me through lunch in the office all week, when fruit etc added in. And tonight, OH texted me about a Diwali offer at our local take away. I told him dinner was planned and it was too expensive.:o. Ooh, and then I opened a letter from a company I set up a savings "jar" with a long time ago, and apparently I have £27 still in it. I could have sworn I'd cleared it out, but I've to send a reply slip back (prepaid envelope ;)) and I get a cheque. Another 2+% on my Big Bill when it settles!

So that's all good. I'm a week past pay day and haven't had to get my hay yet. But I think I will need it by Tuesday as I'm feeding it now (finishing last years). However with luck it means that the order after that can skip into my December paycheck. I only have room for 4 or 5 big bales at a time but luckily my supplier is fairly local. I should probably call him tomorrow to warn him. What else? Oh yes, 41 watchers on my rug on fleabay. Someone has said they will pay the BIN but I'm almost keen to let it run as it's £5 off my reserve with 3 days to go.

Tea's ready so better go eat. The cheap, home made version, not the £18 takeaway version :p

Working at home today so hopefully a NSD, however we are going to the supermarket tonight. In-laws are coming tomorrow and the thing we are cooking needs marinated overnight so have to go today. Going with OH so need to try to rein him in. The credit card bill cuts off today or tomorrow so I'd rather have waited until tomorrow to go, but never mind.

Trying to work out finances. Have £40 on way from 1poll (being very slow). Have £45 confirmed in TCB. Have £27 surprise from my old savings account. Have about £80 hopeful profit from a fleabay item. Close to £200 to add to Big Bill from those things. That together with the amount I hope I can fund from regular spend efficiencies should take me to about half way there. But I don't think I'll have much left in the way of cheats after that.

And, of course, just heard horsey vehicle failed test on a fuel leak so who knows how much that will cost  I hope after all this hard work I don't end up just paying my savings back out again. Grrr.

Feeling a bit low today for some reason. Need a list:

Phone calls to make - 3
[STRIKE]Clean sheets[/STRIKE] on both beds [STRIKE]and another load of laundry on[/STRIKE] ONE BED TO CHANGE
    [STRIKE]hoover whole house.[/STRIKE] DONE
    [STRIKE]Dust upstairs DONE[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Wash couple of dishes[/STRIKE] DONE

    And for the weekend:

    Ride
Find ways to cover extra firewood
    Remove rubble
    Fuel in car
    Wash car and fill washers
    Paint my nails
Do some crafts and read a magazine

See, I've scheduled in some clean time in there! I'm sure the list will have to grow though.

Well Friday stuff all got done, but the weekend not so much. I have painted my nails though. With ancient polish that now looks a bit crap! We moved some of the builder's rubble (using it as hardcore) but it needs more effort than we were prepared to do in a squall. Haven't ridden as weather awful. Did help friends move house, and had family over last night. Need to get soup made for the week still. Oh but actually not tonight as have a work thing tomorrow where lunch is provided. :T

Food shopping was a bit more than normal as we were entertaining. But not horrendously so. OH spent some money in the orange diy place but has offered to pay. My fleabay item finishes soon and has hit it's reserve. Will put that straight to Big Bill.

Slightly dull update really. Trying not to needlessly spend money usually results in being a bit boring :p

The 1poll came through, and I sold my expensive item on fleabay for just over £100 before fees :T. Unfortunately on another item I've had a slightly questionable buyer. He has asked for a refund as he says the item is damaged. The pictures he sent are not very clear and I can't really see what he is talking about; but I've decided in the interests of an easy life and a good score to just issue the refund. That will be £30 off my totals which is a bit annoying; hopefully I don't need to pay the fleabay fees still :( It was in brand new condition when it left here so I guess it was damaged in transit, but I can't be bothered fighting with the courier. I will maybe send an email and see what they say. I think I've got cover but not sure if it covers the item being damaged, or just lost.

Need to update sigs once I work out the impact of that but I reckon I'm around about 30% towards Big Bill now. Oh and was in the office yesterday and had a totally NSD. At home today so should be another one, except hay might be being delivered so that's a big cheque, but a budgeted one.

I've decided to fund the refund out of my normal bank and leave the savings as is. So signature updated. Very close to 1/3rd of the bill saved. :j Only one thing on fleabay now though so going to have to start hunting for more things. I have a ski jacket I'd forgotten about and it might be a good time to get that listed.

Looking back at the weekend list we didn't get much done. Going to have to figure out what to do with the firewood. Earlier in the year we had a lot of trees taken down. We built a new woodshed (in an MSE fashion), but filled that in a nanosecond, and still have pallet upon pallet of log sections. They have recently got soaked so need to get them stored or covered asap. Short term option would be to put them in the garage, but that's where the cars go! We're trying tarpaulins but it's so hard to keep them down in the wind. They had started drying out well in the summer so hope we haven't undone all that hard work and that it's just the surface.

I've also decided that I'm going to put the next round of IVF onto my 0% card. We have some savings towards it, but no point putting my bank back into overdraft. This makes it even less likely that the balance will be paid off by the time the 0% ends but I'll try very hard, and tart it if not. I've not put anything else on it for a couple of months so I'm not using it for general spending. But this, I don't care about the debt. We can pay it off somehow. It's one of the most important things we can ever spend money on. :A

Dangerously, have also started thinking about longer term goals and plans for the house etc. It's not going to be cheap :p But I will save those thoughts for now.

Thanks INOD, I'm sure every penny will be worth it, if it works. We've spent quite a bit already though

Aaah I can't use the 0% card as I'm being charged £100 for the privilege. So now looks like it will have to be real money. Wail. OH has sold some shares so is going to move the cash for that. So savings will have to be emptied after all. _pale_

Still, I've put the dishwasher on.
