Hi
After Vodafone's poor customer service, rude staff, inability to sort out their own mistakes (blaming me in the process) I am leaving them and taking all of my families numbers with me.
Basically Vodafone gave me discounted packages and have now decided to take the discount away and have now almost tripled the monthly cost, numerous phone calls they have said it is their mistake and have credited the account for the difference, but last month they have not given the credit nor have they given me the month free that they promised for their errors and for hassling my 15yo daughter with threats about being cut off by text messages. They have now disconnected the phones as they say I have outstanding bill to pay. I spent 6 hours on live chat to 4 different people who either disconnected the chat or kept reading the script in front of them.I can not phone through on 191 as that has been disconnected too. I had a spare PAYG sim card which I tried to phone through on and it ended up costing me £29 of credit to only be cut off again. So im stuck now as I can not speak to anyone to sort it out.
My question is, my contract runs out in Febuary, when it runs out do I need to give them notice that im leaving and how long does it take to get the pac codes.
Thanks

The contract doesn't run out. The minimum term does.

Yes, you have to give them 1-month notice to cancel. Make sure that you get a confirmation by a text, letter or a e-mail.

If you want to port your number to another network you have to get a PAC. It lasts for 30 days and, if you get it, you must use it. The contract gets terminated when you use it, but if you use it early you pay for the full month regardless. They have to issue the PAC (almost) instantly.

My next question is who can I go to for help/legal advice to fight my case for me as Vodafone will not listen to me and are inadequate to sort my account out and think that it is acceptable to suddenly increase my charge by £100, they have messed my account up so badly that it seems none of them understand it now. I was advised by one of the reps to cancel the direct debit until they sort it out, and now they are charging me a DD fee, after doing as advised by them. Its now day 2 of them cutting my phones off and I can not contact them at all because 191 will only let me go through to the pay bill section, every other option is blocked meaning I can not talk to them, and I do not intend paying them money that I do not owe.
    Any advice please.

    My next question is ...
    Is it your another alias?

From your post it's impossible to understand what actually happened.
And it was a really bad advice/idea to cancel the DD. If you care about your credit history, you put it at risk of being routinely trashed by these idiots

Normally you follow their formal complaints procedure, then take the case to the ombudsman if needed: http://help.vodafone.co.uk/system/selfservice.controller?CMD=VIEW_ARTICLE&PARTITION_ID=1&LANGUAGE=en&COUNTRY=us&CONFIGURATION=1001&CURRENT_CMD=BROWSE_TOPIC&REQUEST_PAGE=CONTACT_US&ARTICLE_ID=323259&TOPIC_ID=26274

That said, it's better to send a link to this thread to their web reps that are the only few people capable of doing anything useful in Voda's shambolic and incompetent CS.
...email me with your details via the link in our profile here?

All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it'll take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line?

Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. So I can make sure I've got it could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

    Kind regards,

It was my wife who put the OP up.
Ref the DD, it was the advice that the Vodafone rep gave us as they kept taking too much money, stop the DD until they can sort the account problem out.
  • We have raised a complaint with live chat for a manager to call, but that takes 24-48 hours.
We have also sent a email to the CEO office asking them to contact us as we have a complaint with our account as we can not get hold of anyone.
All this time we are waiting we have no phones switched on.

As Grumbler as suggested the best chance you have to sort it out is by contacting the rep on here.

Follow the contact advice he gave earlier
It's not just about the money

Yes thanks I will follow the advice from grumbler if the other people can't sort the mess out, its just that I contacted the live chat manager and head office yesterday, don't want too many people getting involved and causing more problems like they have already.

Forget the other people and get Lee to sort it out, his track record is far better than anyone's in that organisation bar none
