Hello
We are on a water meter. Just myself and my partner.
What do you think we would be paying per month Direct Debit?
Thanks

How is anyone supposed to answer that, without knowing a) your cu m usage per year and b) your water supplier? Unit prices vary by up to 250% nationally-there is no 'average'.
If you know your usage then you can easily calculate the annual cost from the rates on the supplier's website. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Your guess is as good as anybody else's. If you are profligate with water and live in an expensive water area then it will be a lot, if you are careful and leave in a cheaper area then it won't be as much.
Find out what your supplier charges, don't forget sewerage & standing charges and multiply it by 110 to give you a rough idea.
Just to be a bit more helpful we use about 75cu.m a year (average is 110cu.m for two people) in the Anglian Water region and pay £312 (£26 a month) = about £4cu.m water, sewerage * standing charge. Average consumption of 110cu.m would be about £440 (£36 a month)Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Thames Water are charging us £11 a month. Seems a bit low to meOxfordmark

I'd agree, read your meter regularly and put away how much you think it will be and then when they sort themselves out and read it - probably April or May - you'll have enough to pay the bill.
Bear in mind that prices always go up on 1st April, so it's worth having that reading so they don't over charge you. Anglian have a facility that allows you to send them water meter readings. Perhaps Thames have the same. It would help get you bills sorted outNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

Perhaps, see how it goes for the first year or half year before committing to DD. Check whether you may qualify for a low user tariff (possibly unlikely for a couple). I qualify for a low user sewage waste tariff and pay no standing charge for that part of my water bill.
In the meantime, contact your water company about reading (and/or accessing) your meter if unsure (don't be afraid to ask)- they should offer help free of charge.
Also, obtain some of the free water saving devices your water company will supply, and follow lots of the advice available online - this will help you adapt to being on a water meter as well as save money and water/planet.

Hey
I just remembered. Back on 13th Nov we had a new water meter fitted so it was 0000. It's now on 00016.
Does this mean we have used 16 cubic metres in just over 2 months? Based on that I work it out to be £196 a year.Oxfordmark

1 cubic meter per person per week is about right if you take short showers (rather than bathe) and both work full time.
Thames water charge £1.99 per cubic meter + £84 per year standing charge.
On the basis of 2 cu meters per week consumption - this works out at about £292 per year or about £25 per month.0 -

So we're going to have a massive shortfall. Shoulder I an TW to increase our DD?Oxfordmark
