Anyone who lives in the southeast should take a day trip to Calais and stock up. I'm currently sitting here enjoying a can or two of very decent lager type beer from Carrefour. Roughly calculated, I bought 24 cans, 500ml, for the same price as 8, or at best, 10 cans of swill from Asdas. I regularly go to Germany, and it's even cheaper. I don't know why we have to pay these prices here for what is esentially a very cheap product. It is quite possible to pay a return day trip to France, have an excellent day out, and make a very good profit, not just on beer or wine. Just take your better half, and let her loose in Auchan or Carrefour, some things are amazingly cheap, everyday stuff. Not everything, of course, but shop carefully and you've had a great day out, and made a healthy profit.
For the unlucky ones who live further away, Morrisons seem to have some promotions on beer at the moment, perhaps you could check this out. Not real beer of course. Brewed and canned in the UK. Ugh!

Sainsbury's have Peroni Nastra Azzuro on offer. £7.45 for 12 bottles (saving £5 off RRP). Nice lager too.

The town centre Sainsbury's in Exeter has cases of 20 x 300ml bottles of Kronenbourg 1664 lager for £6.49.

This offer is not online and may only be available certain stores, but it is a really good price if you can find some.

This offer on Kronenburg is store specific and is being used to clear stock. Scottish and Newcastle who deal with Kronenburg in this country are discontinuing the 20 x 300ml pack and replacing it with an 18 x 300ml pack. It is worth checking your local Sainsbury's for stock. If your store has stock it should be £6.49, but when it's gone that's it
