I ordered 20 metal fence posts on ebay last week and the delivery was made to my wife's work on Friday.
I was driving past at 3pm so I called in to say hello. I picked them up and thought it looked like less than 20, but then thought that maybe I had only ordered 10.
I got home, opened the paperwork and yes, I had ordered 20, but there were definitely only 10. At that point I thought of MSE. What should I do? DSR? SOGA? Create a post here?
    Then I had an epiphany.
    I phoned the supplier.
I politely asked them to check.
Within a couple of minutes they had checked and then told me the bad news... I had missed the cut-off for Friday shipment, but they would be shipped out on Monday for next day delivery.
Have had confirmation today that the logistics company has picked them up.

No one was sued, no lawyers were involved, no rights had to be quoted. All it took was a polite phone call.

    Sometimes that's all it takes.

Sorry, no, don't believe it. Totally ridiculous scenario. Why would a consumer think for themselves?????

No worries mate: you will find that no matter what you put; whether good, bad or indifferent, or ranting or praising or whingeing or being nice, someone will have something negative and sarcastic to say about it. :rotfl:

This is so true, some of the boards seem to be getting nastier and nastier, telling OPs that they must be lying, it's their fault if they were conned, etc etc.

Did the Police give you a crime reference number that you can pass on to BBC's Watchdog programme though?

Martin, you really need to look into this!

My aged dad called 118999 for me and got put through to the police.

    Christmas is ruined...

...well, to be more precised, my choice of breakfast at the weekend was reduced due to the chickens having less space to run around in and they didn't lay any eggs.

I can tell you weren't emotionally prepared for being 10 post short of a christmas dinner.

...being 10 post short of a christmas dinner.

I've been called a lot of things in my time, including:
    A few beers short of a six-pack
A few bits short of a byte
A few boats short of a fleet
A few boxes short of a pallet
A few bristles short of a broom
A few burgers short of a barbecue
A few cards short of a deck
A few clowns short of a circus
A few colours short of a rainbow
A few cracker jacks short of a full box
A few electrons short of an isotope
A few feathers short of a duck
A few fuses short of a full circuit
A few grapes short of a fruit salad
A few keys short of a keyboard
A few leaves short of a bush
A few megabytes short of a gig
A few players short of a team
A few plums short of a pie
A few sandwiches short of a picnic
A few sheep short of a flock
A few toppings short of a Deluxe Pizza
A few valium short of a prescription
A few watts short of a light bulb
A few whiskers short of a kitten

But I've never been called "10 posts short of a Christmas dinner". :) It shall now go on the list.

I suspect though, that I am more likely to be "10 posts short of a locked thread" which seems to happen if you say something positive.

Except you didn't start a thread to say something positive. You started a thread to make petty points about others.

I started a thread to make a valid point. You think it's petty, because it disagrees with everything you believe in, hence your first reply.

Rather pathetic of you, to be honest.
