I ordered something on ebay and only got half my delivery!

Options
I ordered 20 metal fence posts on ebay last week and the delivery was made to my wife's work on Friday.
I was driving past at 3pm so I called in to say hello. I picked them up and thought it looked like less than 20, but then thought that maybe I had only ordered 10.
I got home, opened the paperwork and yes, I had ordered 20, but there were definitely only 10. At that point I thought of MSE. What should I do? DSR? SOGA? Create a post here?
Then I had an epiphany.
I phoned the supplier.
I politely asked them to check.
Within a couple of minutes they had checked and then told me the bad news... I had missed the cut-off for Friday shipment, but they would be shipped out on Monday for next day delivery.
Have had confirmation today that the logistics company has picked them up.

No one was sued, no lawyers were involved, no rights had to be quoted. All it took was a polite phone call.

Sometimes that's all it takes.
1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

That is outragous! You had to go to the trouble of making ONE phone call, that took 2 minutes of your life, and didn't even involve threatening behaviour?!?

They obviously did this deliberately to inconvenience you, and effectively stole that time in your life you can never, ever get back!

Watchdog, Trading Standards, CAB, the Police! Call them all!

Actually, I was giving advice on how to deal with something when you are unhappy. Unlike the bollox you spout on here, it involved talking to someone rather than threatening them by email. It resulted in a swift resolution and I was happy.

Last time I checked this was the "praise, vents and warnings" section. Well, my praise was for good customer service, my vent was about bad advice being offered on here, and my warning was that the more we have a "sue first" culture, the more we become like the worst of the USA.

No worries mate: you will find that no matter what you put; whether good, bad or indifferent, or ranting or praising or whingeing or being nice, someone will have something negative and sarcastic to say about it. :rotfl:

If you are praising the company involved why haven't you named them and why the completely misleading title? Or did you just make this story up?

If you hate consumers so much may I suggest that Money Saving Expert is not for you and that you take your unhelpful bile elsewhere.
  • Surely this is TalkTalk's fault?
  • Thank you OP ..its seems so rare nowadays that people are actually civil instead of shouting that they "know their rights" when usually they are talking out of their rear end.

Hurrah for common sense .. Although though sadly "common sense" isn't all that common anymore.
Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...

Pet Peeves.... queues, vain people and hypocrites ..not necessarily in that order.

The title is not misleading - it is 100% factually correct. I received 10 posts on Friday, not the 20 I had ordered. The other 10 were shipped today and I should get them tomorrow.

Since you hate businesses so much it doesn't matter whether I name them or not. I shall post their details tomorrow for those that are interested in finding good customer service.

Look who was the only person to thank Coopdivi's post!
