Update
Our cat was operated on over 2 years ago - and is currently eating way too much (he eats at neighbours too) - but is a fat happy 6 kg - so we are leaving it at that !!
Please don't tell us to put him on a diet - he is fine and ALIVE at 6kg...
Until he gets diabetes, that is.0 -

I started the thread last year, but don't apologise as I am sure it will be useful for any other worried cat owners who might come onto this thread if searching. I had the dilemma but as I had insurance I took the radioactive option. It seemed like an ordeal 2 weeks away from home and 3 weeks locked up as I needed to keep her away from my 4 year old son. BUT it was worth it. She is so happy now. I can leave her at home with a neighbour to feed if we go away for a weekend. She hated going in car to the cattery. Not to mention how much it would cost in the long run. I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who is in doubt. :T0 -
