I would ask vet to write you a prescription and get them off the internet... a far cheaper way.
I get charged £12 for prescription and get 6 months of meds for my horse.
Have a search for prices on internet and ask your vet at next appointment.:j1/6/12 - I am mortgage free:j0 -
Vidalta at £90 for 30 tablets - is what our vet charged
That appears to be pretty expensive. ...
Return them! I hate vet prices, they are ridiculous. Keep 2 or 3 and get a prescription for the rest. Viovet (who I love, btw) have 30 x 10mg tabs for £12.30 and 30x 15mg tablets for £16.20. P&P is £1.95. Add those up and you are faaar from £90, and they deliver within a couple of days hence the need to keep a couple (first class p&p is standard)! Even if you add on a tenner for the prescription, you're still laughing.
P.S. Do you mind me asking what happened with your diabetic cats?0 -

The first one died of complications - aged 12 !!
The second survived with daily injections for a year..
What "on-line" pharmacy do you use ?
I am concerned about buying "drugs" on-line, that they may not be genuine0 -
As long as you stick to reputable online pharmacies then there should be no risk of counterfeit drugs. Viovet are very good but I have also used Animed (normally the cheapest) Medicanimal or Bestpet.
I know you no longer have diabetic cats, but you would certainly find the information on https://www.diabeticcatcare.com of interest.0 -

Oh poor kitties. Was it a hypo that eventually got the second one? Sounds horriblesorry.
I use viovet because I found a couple of articles online from a reputable newspaper, so they weren't a faceless website.

The website itself also has the credentials of the vet behind the whole thing, and I checked his registration number with the RCVS:

Their customer service is fantastic - one example being that I received a reply to one of my emails two minutes after I'd sent it :eek:0 -

I am happy doing this - my wife is not so sure - she thinks that it will affect our relationhip with the overcharging vet! !
ie) they will treat us differently if we buy the drugs on-line rather than through them !!0 -
It may possibly change your relationship, but under RCVS rules they are now allowed to refuse (only on the grounds that the medication is not suitable - but in that case they shouldn't sell it to you themselves either), and whilst they are allowed to charge a prescription, it must not be so high that it dissuades you to ask for a presecription

I have gone down the prescription route with my vet and haven't found it's negatively affected my relationship with them.0
