For anyone who has used this were they both credited and on the AA form I could not see where to put in my start date as my own cover has not expired yet.
As for start date... I am not sure if you can? It might be worth calling to ask them if it's possible with the online form... Just don't be tempted to let them complete the purchase over the phone for you or you won't get the quidco cashback:beer:

I don't know why this isn't talked about on this site, maybe there's a catch I still haven't discovered but did anyone take a closer look at Barclays' Additions Plus current account?
With that account you get automatic breakdown cover with RAC. This is the comprehensive policy which includes homestart and European cover. RAC and AA are the best for service in my opinion but there'll always be someone who disagrees.
In addition, and this (as well as the domestic emergency cover) is what makes it really worth the money when coupled with the above, you get worldwide travel insurance for the whole family and you don't have to register each trip.
With their domestic emergency cover I don't need the British Gas cover which I was previously paying £16 per month for. If my central heating breaks down or I have a plumbing disaster I just call the dedicated additions plus helpline number and I'm covered for repairs up to £1,000. This covers other things in addition like fallen trees or garage door problems.
It doesn't end there though. By having this account you are automatically covered for accidental death. When the unfortunate occurs your account is automatically credited with £7,500 which I understand would go towards your estate so a little something for your loved ones.
There are tons of other benefits such as mobile phone insurance and oh remember the extended warranty on appliances which Barclaycard used to offer but withdrew? This account gives you that automatically so your new appliances such as TV, washing machine etc gets an extra 12 months warranty on top of the manufacturer's warranty.
Also you get access to discounts in online shopping. I never used to bother with this until I tried it to book a hotel stay in Spain. I found a fab 5-star hotel called Mirasierra Suites & Spa going for over £100 per night on most websites. Then I saw it on Expedia for £83 + c.£5 tax per night (comparable to lastminute.com price I found). Then someone on here recommended reserveahotelonline.com and indeed that was cheaper at £85 per night. Well when I booked via the additions plus website (using my additions username and password) it worked out to be at least £5 cheaper per night than reserveahotelonline because they offer a 7.5% discount on lastminute dot com prices. Now even if I'd booked with expedia via quidco it wouldn't have been this cheap because quidco only offers a 6% discount.
There are loads of other benefits and no, I dont get anything for this 'spiel' but I wondered why Martin has never mentioned this account.
Sorry for the long post but I've had it for a short time and can see no catches so far. Its well worth the £14 per month in my opinion.
Does anyone else have this account and what do you think? The reason people don't move right down inside the carriage is that there's nothing to hold onto when you're in the middle.0 -
Just phoned AA tried to sign me up via phone as internet has no start date, so it starts when you sign up. Will have to wait until next month, hope offer is still on.0
